I just realized this, and it seems funny to me. Not only have 4 of the nominees for the leading actress Tony this year won previous Tonys, but those 4 also have ALL won the Drama Desk award for the role that make them Tony nominees this year. Christine, Audra, Donna, and Debra all have Drama Desks for their respective roles, which is SO uncommon. Crazy. Poor Laura Bell Bundy must feel so left out, lol. Sorry if this thread is pointless, but I found it amusing.

I thought the Drama Desk would tell us who Ebersole's biggest competition would be - Murphy or McDonald.
Maybe the Tonys should do a three-way tie.

I tend to wonder if both ladies received the Drama Desk because neither one will win the Tony. (consolation prize)
I think Ebersole will claim the Tony in her own right.
Can't wait to see it.

To have to decide between those 3 trancendent performances is no easy task. All 3 marvelous in their own special way. If I were a voter though, I'd put my vote in for MURPHY!

I saw "Grey Gardens" this week and I LOVED it!!!!!! After the show I told Mrs. Ebersole that I wanted to congratulate her on her Tony Award Nomination and I visit all the Broadway Gossip sites and I told her that she was the favorite! She smiled at me!
I hope I'm right!!!!!!

Ms. Ebersole will win, in my estiamtion.
She's giving a performance that made this 20 year theatergoer believe in the ability of theater to stir the soul and move the heart. (poetic, yes, but that's the effect of the show and her performance.)
Anytime anyone tells her she's going to win, she's so humble about it. (doesn't talk about it really) I admire her humility particularly given the reviews she's gotten.
Amazing lady and performance (and show.)

Posted: 5/21/07 at 11:55amEvery year for every catagory, I have a favorite to win. Not necessarly the person that should win, but a personal favorite. This is the first time that I can remember, I have not been able to pick a favorite. All 3 women give such amazingly brilliant performances, it is almost impossible to choose. All three didn't only act their roles, but became their charecters. What I mean is that each woman became the people they were playing in every sense an actor can become a person.
