"Tonya already had her chance to shine - and had her Tony.
I think the voters felt this was Idina's turn to shine."
If that is truly the reason why they would give a Tony award to Menzel over Pinkins then that is very very sad indeed.

Rockfenris. You need some help. How is this thread a survey? If you knew anything. A Message Board is about sharing opinions, etc. If people didn't ask questions like these - it wouldn't be a message board. You really need to chill the ^&*$ out. This wasn't even a Wicked thread. Get over it, and lose the caps.

"Idina was just the hapless victim of a Tony award but honestly people are going to be scratching their heads for years to come about that one!"
Idina didn't look anything like a victim when she won the Tony Award. She looked quite pleased, touch and thrilled with her win and the hearty reception her win generated.
With that said, I'd have given the Tony to Pinkins, And I suspect it was a realllly close vote. c'est la vie. Although, I wish you were right, I really don't think anyone will be discussing Tonya's loss for years to come...at least I haven't seen it cause any uproar in the way that the Ragtime/Lion King or Miss Saigon/Will Roger's Follies seemed to ignite heated debates. I'd love to say that Caroline will leave that last impact the other shows have, but I don't see it happening.

Posted: 8/3/05 at 3:03pmTo answer the thread question: Gary Beach's reviews in La Cage recently weren't too enthusiastic for the most part. While his interpretation of Albin was perhaps not the best that has ever existed, it most assuredly wasn't the worst either. When I saw the show, I found him solid and appealing.

Rockfenris. You need some help.
No. I need to speak to rational Broadway fans
How is this thread a survey?
Come on. Almost every thread on this board is a survey, these days. Who's your favourite actor? What are you listening to now? Who's your favourite director? What colour mascara does Idina Menzel wear? Who's your favourite dancer? Singer? Favourite cast recording? And, believe it or not, What male roles are there in the King and I: I'm SERIOUS. That was a thread. When I first logged on here everyone had really great mature and interesting conversations.. now it's jst like teenage girls huddling around in the bathroom sharing secrets and lipstick.
If you knew anything. A Message Board is about sharing opinions, etc. If people didn't ask questions like these - it wouldn't be a message board. You really need to chill the ^&*$ out. This wasn't even a Wicked thread. Get over it, and lose the caps.
Sorry if I didn't make my point as valid as I would want to. Sometimes the frustration becomes a little unbearable when one gets home from a hard work and has to sift through endless jargon

Posted: 8/4/05 at 5:12amDuring Adam Pascal's run of Aida, I overheard both ensemble members and audience complain about his voice. The ensemble seemed to think that Disney should have hired a "real star". I yeled at a lady who sat behind me when she said his voice was awful during intermission. It was fun!
