Why, localonecrew seems to have left the room without telling me who he is. Why is that not a surprise. "You first" he said bravely. I went first. He will not post who he is. And I'M the poseur, huh? Sadly, localonecrew is a typical Internet bullyboy and if this little exchange doesn't show him for what he really is, I guess nothing will.

C'mon, localonecrew - fair is fair - stop hiding behind your keyboard and show some guts - who are you?

What purpose is knowing his name going to serve? You know of his affiliation, which is really the relevant information in this topic.

With the number of crazies that propagate this place, posting a full name isn't even safe.

Because he threw down the gauntlet and said "You first." I have no problem with people knowing who I am, and I don't hide behind my keyboard. I think he's behaved poorly, and I find him a bully, but it's easy to be a bully when you're anonymous. I knew he wouldn't say his name, but he baited nonetheless, and when I delivered, he ran. End of story.

And I want to reiterate, I take no sides in this and have stated that many times. But I don't like bullies, and localonecrew has made some truly obnoxious and offensive posts, and just because he's on some crew doesn't make that right. As I've said repeatedly, I have friends who are members of Local One, who are top professionals and wonderful people. While I'm not all that friendly with members of the League, I do know the risk that producers take every time they put money into a show. It's not black-and-white, and, at the end of the day, there will be compromise on both ends. Both sides will say they won. And the world will go on.

You know who I am, old stick. But we do not know who you are. Typical Internet bullyboy behavior and you have shown yourself to be what you are - a gutless wonder, who has, in fact, posted more fiction here than Hemingway wrote in his lifetime - unfortunately, it was not worthy of Hemingway or even The Hardy Boys.

You are fooling no one and thank the Lord we won't have to have anymore of your BS after Saturday.

brucey,

we have already caught you lying and backpedaling.
you are a bottom feeder. you float on the fringes of bway theater and are so desperate to be a part of it that you claim to have all of this info that doesnt really exist.
your insecurity and desperation to belong is delicious.

Yawn. Keep insulting, it just shows you for what you are - a troll who insults and denigrates - it is pathetic really, but typical.

As to lies, your posts during the last week speak for themselves.

Now, who are you again? Oh, that's right - you bait and run, you gutless coward.

Some of you guys really need lives or girlfriends, cuz this is just sad.

Whatever happened to "here's to getting Broadway back up and running!"? Apparently that regressed into a high school pissing match.

"A reference to Working the Musical!"

Maybe when this is all over, someone can do a musical about the IATSE strike. We'll call it "Not Working: The Musical".

It's been confirmed in the press that Disney is the third party that negotiated this new round of negotiations. And as I said, the mayor had absolutely NOTHING to do with it. He has no power over either party.

I don't know how bk knows who the Mayor is calling? Must work for the telephone company! Those terrible neo-cons. Unless of course you are saying you work for the Mayor? That is possible though his posts would say otherwise.

What is important is that the Union didn't fall for the Mayor's line to screw up the Contracts and that is a point for the Union. Did the Mayor call Disney? For some intelligent reason, I bet he didn't have to. Disney must have the Mayor on speed dial by now considering this Strike is costing them millions. Ruining the whole marketing of opening night for The Little Mermaid alone must be keeping at least a few executive assistants up all night.

bk, it does you no good calling people, who work on the stages to help shows run on Broadway, names. They are doing the work or will as soon as a good contract is put to sign. It doesn't make the League look good when you come here throwing stuff at posters here who have only been trying to answer our questions. That makes you less creditable. Since they can answer our questions, they have earned a lot of clout here. If they were just speaking jibberish most of us would have stopped listening a long time ago. I don't work in the business but I understand their job well enough to know if they were talking bs all of the time.

You may not like their position but what have you to gain, by upsetting us fans, by saying stuff that is either obvious or statements you cannot back up with press? I personally don't care who got the negotiations going. As far as I can see, it was Disney. Not the League, not the Mayor but a well respected negotiator that both the Union and League feel they can work with.

To hope that the Union gets nothing out of this is so mean. They are doing the work. If you are a half way decent Businessman than you would look at those overtime hours and blow a lid. The problem comes from both the old contract and the League getting too cheap. You cannot negotiate well in the Newspapers. All St. Martin's press releases proved is that she really can't settle a contract. Her statements alone convinced me she wasn't negotiating fairly. That threat of a lock out, putting all of Broadway on hold, proved beyond a shadow of the doubt that it was the League and not the Union that ended negotiations here.

That is in print.

Lucky for us, she isn't too good at her job. She should never have leaked it and that news was all I needed to know where things really stood. Next time. Tell your League friends to hire someone who has an Engineering background and can settle a Contract please? Until then, we all suffer for her poor skills and the Leagues unrelenting pursuit to cut down the Union. Too bad they picked one that could shut down most of Broadway.

At least some of the big players are making money off of the other striking shows. Of course if they aren't getting anything out of Young Frankenstein then who really is being fleeced this time of the year? Ho, ho, ho! It ain't the Producers of Young Frankenstein. Party on Mel! Don't forget the kids out there on the picket lines. Someday, you might want them to work for you.
