Legends is currently playing in Toronto. I am wondering if anyone has seen it and what their impressions are. Also, how are Joan and Linda at the Stage Door?
I am also interested in this...how is it going...how is the stage door?
I'm going next week, I'll let you know.
But I want to know NOW!
Interesting...they have NOT set a press date, as yet. Performances began last week and I am told they are going well. Having read Diary of a Mad Playwright I am very anxious to see this show myself.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
Since "Dynasty" was set here in Denver, I expect it will do well when it gets here. I will be there although I heard the script is not that good.
Really? You heard the script isn't good? Hmmm. What are your sources?
Double-hmmm.
The script has been published for years; I have a copy. It's slight, the comedy obvious and lame (male stripper, sassy black maid). It's clear it went through multiple rewrites, and the result is very LOVE BOAT-ish. Collins and Evans are at least match-up for the types, the bitch and the goody-goody.
Thanks, Auggie...but I was just trying to be snarny (unsucessfully). I've read "Diary of a Mad Playwright" twice and actually saw the play in Miami Beach back in the day, so I'm quite familiar with this wreck called LEGENDS.
Regardless of how terrible the script is, I fully embraced this 'revival' when it was first announced. Joan and Linda are the perfect duo to milk this f**ker for all it's worth. If anyone understands the camp aspect of it, they sure do.
Can't wait to see this when it plays down here.
