The news here is that Stanley Tucci is directing.
What if Parade sparks interest in a transfer? Will he not travel with the show to Broadway?
So so exciting. I will not be missing this one.

I think Parade would do a lot better on Broadway.
I'm with Yankeefan; the surprise to me is Stanley Tucci directing. This will definitely be interesting to see.
You guys are right about Tucci, I updated the OP.
The Donmar Warehouse is definitely hoping to take Parade to Broadway. T.R. Knight, however, only made a committment to do the show in LA. In case TR does get good reviews and Parade does go to Broadway, he can always back out of "Lend Me A Tenor" to do Parade on Broadway. He'll end up on Broadway either way.
What?????

I have yet to see that in print other than ATC, but the news that TR Knight had dropped out was broken there by Sparky, who is obviously pretty well connected and I've never known him/her to be wrong on anything.
Besides, the original verification of the TR/Tenor production lull linked to is a TV publication, Entertainment Weekly, and while Ausiello is often right, he isn't always - I don't think it ever really was a done deal.
Time will tell.

I don't know anything about LEND ME A TENOR but I don't think we will see PARADE on Broadway this season. First of all, there has yet to be a producer to step forward and want to transfer it (neither the Center Theatre Group or the Donmar are going to pay for a transfer) nor is there a particularly appropriate theatre available for this production.
PARADE would be really very expensive to move. The size of the Taper is so odd, and so unique virtually the entire set would have to be rebuilt completely for another theatre.
I would be surprised if this production came to NYC as a commercial Broadway production. My guess is that in another five years or so a company like the Roundabout might consider doing their own staging of a new revival of it.
I would KILL for PARADE to be back on Broadway... foolish notions, I suppose... but it would be wonderful to have a few truly adult musicals (WSS, ALNM & PARADE being among the best ever written) playing on Broadway at the same time, even if they are revivals.
P
I'm sorry, but I saw T.R. in PARADE and he really shouldn't be in any more musicals as the lead.
Hire someone that can sing.

While Knight is no Brent Carver, he's an above adequate singer and an excellent actor. Yes, I know we should be shooting for higher than "above adequate", but if it takes a semi-name to bring Parade back to Broadway, I'm all for it. Having said that, I'll concur with Bennett - probably not going to happen.
