ive read this in a news article...

"Lea and Rob plan to take Nicole Beverly to Los Angeles around August to give Lea enough time to regain her strength. Baby Nicole Beverly went home with her parents last Saturday, May 20.

Offers to do “Les Miserables” again in Broadway also have to wait. Lea won the Laurence Olivier award for her performance of Kim in “Miss Saigon” in London when she was 17 and won the Tony later when ....."

I am not sure whether anyone will like this idea. But since Tim Howar & his family is now on Broadway, shudnt they ask his wife to play Fantine? I am guessing that some people wud like to see her back onstage on Broadway.

I have heard nothing definite and am curious to see who is going to play who.

I met Craig Schulman a few weeks ago and he said he was going to talk to them about being Valjean. *crosses fingers*

Wonderful article on Lea as well. Thanks for sharing.

That is a face ready for stardom, my friends! And I've only gotten better in the 3 years since those pictures were taken.

So call Cameron Macintosh and tell him to think Kitzponine in 06!

I heard they want a young Fantine- like 18 or so. I've heard they're looking for her to be close in age to Eponine and Cosette when they are older- who they want to be a young teenager- like 16 years old.

Let's get Alice Ripley back as Fantine ... she was fantastic! OR, better yet (!!), Get Eden to do it so that Alice can take over as Elphie! I would love to hear her wrap her voice around those songs.

I'd love to see Alice Ripley as Fantine

If she weren't in The Drowsy Chaperone, I would love to see Sutton Foster as Eponine again. I saw her on tour and she was fantastic. How about Emily Skinner as Mrs. Thenardier and John Ellison Conlee as Mr. Thenardier? And I don't know if it's really in his range, but maybe Doug Sills for Javert. Maybe it wouldn't work- for some reason I can't get the music in my to help me decide if they would.

So Fantine had Cosette when she was 9? Wow!

Interesting bit of triva, the OBC Madame Thenardier, Jennifer Butt, was in her late twenties when she first played Madame, and the OBC Eponine, Frances Ruefelle, was in her early twenties. From the photos and clips I have seen of Jennifer, the makeup people did a great job making Jennifer look older. With Madame and Eponine, one could probably get away with having not much of an age difference between the actresses because of the makeup. Here is a link to an article about Jennifer:

Yeah, she must have been young, cause she's playing the part on tour right now.

Its not inconceivable that Fantine had Cosette as a teenager. If she had Cosette when she was 16 or 17, that would only make her a few years older than older Cosette/Eponine when she died. An actress in her mid-late twenties isn't all that illogical.

timote316, it's very, very inconceivable that Fantine had Eponine as a teen. Eponine is a Thenardier; Fantine's daughter is Cosette.

According to the book, wasn't Fantine about 25 when she died? That means she'd have been 17/18 when she had Cosette.

I like Eden...I really do, but I cannot see her as Fantine or as Eponine. In fact if she was cast as any role in les mis I'd be pretty upset.

I think we can confirm an ensemble member. According to the young artist ensemble web site, one of their alumni, Sara Ford, is going to be in the ensemble and a Cosette understudy. Here is a link to the web site, you are going to have to click the "alumni" link then scrol down to read Sara's bio, there is no direct link.

I remember reading in an interview with Eden that Eponine was her dream role, but she felt that she was getting a bit older and had also set her sights on Fantine, so I would be happy to see her get to play a dream role.
