I don't have time tonight to post a full review of the show, but just wanted to post a little Megan-love. I have been a fan of Megan since I saw her in LW two years ago, so when I heard she would be playing Eponine all weekend I jumped at the chance to see her (for the record, I love Celia, but I have way more chances to see her). Megan delivered an absolutely captivating performance. Her voice was clear and beautiful, but not an overbearing belt. Her acting was beautiful as well. If you happen to be in the city tomorrow, go catch Megan as Eponine. It is a performance to be remembered. Just wanted to give a shout out to an extremely under-appreciated performer out there.

not to be a jerk, but ever since i saw her in little women...i just don't see the appeal.

in fact, she drives me nuts.

i don't think her voice is that great.

skingdom out.

I think megan mcginnis is one of those actors on broadway who can actually act. Going from Parade to The Dead, to Belle in Beauty to the lead in Good Vibrations (which she had before Kate Reinders but turned it down to take Beth in Little Women instead) to beth in Little women, this young lady actually has diversity on her resume'. Where a lot of people on bway do the same types of roles over and over, ms mcginnis seems like she can play a multitude of things. Strong women, frail, vulnerable and available, she is a talent.
And for her voice, its not a powerhouse blow you away with sound kinda voice, but it does blow you away with sensibility and actually being connected to what she is singing. Where I think a lot of the young women on the bway stage today think belting to the audience will show what power they have, ms. mcginnis brings the audience to her with her subtle but magnetic charm.
I wish her all the more success in the future.

She is going on all weekend (or the one more show they have). Marissa, the other understudy, is doing Megan's roles.

I'm always glad to hear good things about understudies. Being an understudy is a difficult task, and sometimes can seem like a thankless job. I'm happy for Megan.

SO GLAD THERE IS A THREAD ON THIS! I wish I could see her! I am a huge Megan McGinnis fan. In fact, when I first heard Lea Michele had dropped the role,I was very surprised that Megan was not given it. She is just so amazing. I remember hearing about the original casting and just generally being surprised that she was in the ensemble since she's had some plum roles on the great white way...
