I saw it tonight (and enjoyed it) and stage doored as well. It was pretty calm on my side, without the barricades, I didn't see any problems. Everyone was very obliging in photographs and autographs, but it seemed like most were in a rush to go. Daphne, Norm, and Jacob Levine (who played Gavroche, adorable!!) were the stage door standouts, in my opinion; they were friendly and chatty. But I can't bust on those who weren't- it has been a long few weeks. I was a bit sad about Aaron Lazar, though; he was one who I particularly wanted to meet (as I loved him in Piazza, even took my mom to see it when she visited from FL), and he was pretty distracted. I kind of pulled him in as he was going to the other side of the crowd, but I think only signed 'cause I caught his eye and sort of thrust my playbill in his general direction. But it's cool, hehe. God knows if I had been in a show this week, I probably would have gone out another exit with the mood I've been in! So I can't fault anyone. :o)
BWayFanatic, I probably saw you...

When I went to the matinee on the 12th, It was a damn school organization so I was ushered away by a crackpot teacher who found me and my friend trying to steal a stage door meeting with my favorite person ever (Gary Beach) and even though he took us away before anyone came out, it looked like it was going to be a mob scene
No barricades, everyone was in a huddle just far enough away from the door, and too many cranky people.
I was so upset it was rediculous, I never get to stage door.
How long did everyone wait for them to come out after the show anyway?

broadwaybaby086: Yeah, you probably did see me! Me and my friend were the first two guys that the actors signed for as they came out the stage door.
Where were you in relation to us, cuz i probably saw you too! I was surprised that it was pretty tame without the barricades, and is it just me or did Jenny Galloway not come out?

Posted: 11/20/06 at 8:24pmHas anyone been recently? Is the barrier back up? When I walked by the other day I thought I saw a barrier leaning against the wall of the theater, but wasn't sure...? I hope it is. They need one!

Two of my friends and I sang Happy Birthday to Daphne Saturday night! She was so gracious and appreciative! She started laughing and screaming "Dude! That friggin' ROCKED! Thanks! Wow, that reakin' ROCKED, MAN!"
...we're freaks.
...but it was fun!

My bus leaves like right after I see Les Mis so I don't think I'll be able to stage door
Do you guys think it is rude to try to meet an actor before a show? I've seen people do it but I never know if it is appropriate or not, so I haven't. Oh, and for those of you who have mentioned writing to the cast if you couldn't stage door..Aaron and Adam both sent me headshots and signed playbills :) They were sweet.

Posted: 11/21/06 at 7:59pmI've actually bumped into Norm and Alex on their way to work (2 hours before the show) and they couldn't have been nicer. Just remember, they're people like you and me. All actors are. If you were to be recognized on the street by a fan, wouldn't you be elated?

I actually sent Daphne something for her birthday. I have never sent an actor a gift before, but for some reason I felt compelled. Maybe I was feeling bad for her with all of the bashing going on. I don't know. Anyway, she sent me a really nice e-mail back. Said she had a great birthday and loved the gift :)
I actually saw her on her way into the show one night about a half hour before the show would have started. But by the time it clicked that it really was her she had passed me and I didn't want to yell her name or go chasing after her so I don't know if she would have minded or not. But I doubt it. I would think that as long as you don't talk their ear off for too long (they do have to get ready, after all) that they would be happy to say hi.

I did stage door last Friday, everyone was nice to autograph and take a pic if asked. Alex came out early but Norm was a bit late, and Aaron was later. I never saw Geary or Jenny, after I got the autograph from Aaron I left.
Norm was chatty when I brought up about the show he did at Music Circus (The Fantasticks) he said he'd like to return. Well if Les Mis closes in April, he can ;P As they'll do Les Mis next summer.
My fav was Doug Kreeger. The most charming person at the stagedoor.
