I was also there on Oct 27, the same day as "Eponine Amneris" (I was 3 rows behind you). Everyone came out and there were no metal barricades. Everyone signed and was very friendly. I chatted with Celia about a mutual friend and of course spent the most time with Norm, who came out last. Even though it was raining they still signed. Not sure whether they are still as accomodating now.
i went to the show last night and stage doored-- everyone came out! daphne was great- really silly! celia came and went as someone said, but i was lucky enough to get an autograph and picture with her. gary beach was funny, he kept the cap of my sharpie, and norm lewis was really friendly and talking to everyone. aaron was friendly, but seemed a little off, probably just exhausted. my favorite, though, was adam jacobs. he was sooo nice, and went out of his way to take a picture with me. as he approached he was like "Okay, ready?!" He was super cute.
so that's basically it, and there was no barricade, just a bunch of people in a circle.
I love how the stage door for Les Mis has a "barricade."
That is so odd. What is up with the disappearning, reappearing barricade? I kind of hope it is back tomorrow. It is just so much easier to see everyone as the come out that way. At least in my opinion.
JamesMacon: I was thinking the exact same thing!
I finally got around to stage dooring LES MIS this afternoon and honestly, they need a barricade there. It was a complete mob scene and totally disorganized. Hopefully they will set up barricades after each performance from now on. The cast members were all very nice though, despite the chaos.
It's strange how at one point they did have the barricades, but they don't use them anymore. Why WOULDN'T they use them? I assume the actors would have a much easier time getting through to everyone with the barricades

Adam Jacobs seems like he would be like that. He really seems like the cutest thing...ever.

Doesn't anyone other than me think that its wierd that the show doesn't have any merchandise. I mean HELLLOOOOO its a cameron mc show. He always makes sure there are tons of items. THats how they make the cash flow.
I thought I read somewhere that merchandise was coming soon . . . this week maybe?
But back to the barricades . . . seriously, why would they go from not having them, to having them, to not having them? When I was there last week (passing by) there was one. Will have to see if they have one when I go today. So excited to see this show!

When I saw The History Boys at the Broadhurst, they never used barricades at the stagedoor the three times I saw the show, which was really detrimental when trying to get the entire cast's signatures.
But it's really nice to know that they sometimes use it for Les Mis, and that the cast is so accomodating... Especially Adam Jacobs and Aaron Lazar! *swoon*

Thanks for those stories, NJRae.
And you'll have to report tonight including whether there are barricades at the stage door not. :)
I just hope it isn't pouring rain! I mean I want to meet everyone, but not if it means getting drenched!

I wonder if the same cast will be there on 4/7/07?
So did anyone talk to Victor Hawks at the stage door after he performed Valjean?
I was there Friday night and, like everyone said, it was a mess. In Celia's defense, she has two large bags in both of her hands and she seemed a little sick. Everyone was really nice. Daphne handed out flyers for her new album saying, "shameless plug, shameless plug." Out of everyone, Daphne got mobbed the worst. They really need some barricades.
oh yeah-- definitely agree about celia, she did seem a little sick, plus im assuming most of them were exhausted anyways.
they definitely need barricades (haha). it's probably just going to keep getting worse if they just let people mob the cast.
Sparklingxdiamond - agreed, they really do need barricades, I was there Friday too, and everyone did get mobbed! Aaron was so sweet though, he used my sharpie to sign a couple of playbills, I still can't get over how nice everyone was!
I'm going back to the city in December and I reallllly want to stage door honestly just to meet Aaron. But I need barricades just because when there's a mob I get so nervous that I'm like crushing someone. Stagedoors are scary!
Don't worry, all the actors made sure everyone had been signed.

And I wonder how many of those turn around and come to this board to trash her performance.
Just got back from tonights performance, it was amazing.. i loved daphne and they made the announcement in the beggining about Victor Hawks performing with limited rehearsal as Jean Valjean... you could not tell at all that he had not rehearsed. He was great, even amazing. I loved the entire show.
As for the stage door, it was a mess and a mob. No barricade, which they really do need. People become so uncivilized, pushing and shoving and it just sucked lol. However my sister and I were lucky enough to get all the main stars autographs so we were happy
Geez, I hope Alex is okay. He gave a phenominal performance Friday night.

I saw the show on 11/8 (last preview). I came to the theater around 7:15 (not because I wanted any autographs or anything -- I just got there at that time) and Ali Ewoldt, Norm Lewis, Haviland Stillwell were all standing by the theater (and it was a rainy night too) just chatting, etc. Very few people even bothered them with pictures or autographs. In fact, they were outside until 7:35 -- basically until the doors of the theater opened.
