Mizzzz or Misss?? i've seen it both ways...
Les Mis to be spelling-correct
Les Miz to be correct to someone who has only said it.
I prefer Les Mis..since it's Les Miserables.
I saw Les Mis because, as was already said its the way you shorten the actual word.
Les Mis. I personally don't like it when people write (or say) 'Les Miz.'
I feel that Les Mis is more correct, but I think either or is completely exceptable. B/c it sounds more like it ends w/a "z". *shrug* It really doesn't matter.
The English Major in me makes me go with Les Mis.
Well, the correct abbreviation is "Les Mis" but, since it's French, one "s" is pronounced like a "z." That's where "Les Miz" came from.
So, if you want to be correct, write Les Mis. If you want to get across how to pronounce it, write Les Miz.
well the official site is lesmis.com *shurgs*

but posters and ads (specifically in SF right now) it says Les Miz. I like Les Miz, personally. true it is Miserables, but if you're slanging the word, you might as well just spell it Miz.

Well both are nicknames, so I don't think either is incorrect, but I always used Les Mis. I'm sure however you write it, you pronounce it lay mihz, but if you pronounced Les Mis correctly (as it's French), it would leh miss, I think. So yeah, just nicknames, no correctness or incorrectness either way
You know, I just think it's sad that at 1:40 in the morning I don't have anything better to be doing than reading this thread.
I like Les Miz......and I like when the advertisements say "Don't Miz out!" yay.
it should definitely always be mis
show some respect and tradition
music theater is not rap or hip hop, it's classical lyrical stuff.
there's no z in it, so why spell it that way?
no one says fantom? do they??
LOL! It really matters little to anyone how you personally choose to shorten the name of the show.
While there's no official or correct standard regarding this nickname, both the commercial world (ads/promo's) as well as many of the actors who play/played in the show seem to favor calling it LE MIZ. So that's good enough for me.
Either way... I'm just glad so many people enjoy (ed) the show for so long.
Les Mis.
I said Les Mis, even though I had only seen Les Miz before...it just seemed appropriate to cut the word in the way it was spelled.

Well, if you believe that, then you would only ever call it "Les Miserables". You would never shorten it to "Les Mis" or "Les Miz"
Doesn't matter how you spell it.
Just spell it the best musical ever.
Not that this matters really... but the producers and advertisments use the 'Z' in their print. I have requently seen ads that show little cosette holding tickets with the caption above saying "Don't Miz out."
(edit) **oops - i just realized that someone else already posted this...sorry.

On posters and flyers it says Les Miz, so I GUESS that's the correct way... but I say (type?) Les Mis.
The marketing material includes both spellings. Dewynters doesn't appear to care, as long as it's consistent within each ad.
Les Mis. The French student in me forbids me to spell it with a z.
