"Do not look for WB to come back to Broadway for 5 years. They may have "money to burn" but that does not say they should piss it away on trying to make money on Broadway after this. The odds are against anyone but after this they will be licking their wounds for a good long time".
And to that I have to say "Amen"! Corporate producers are what is wrong with Broadway these days. Also, they hired a team with no proven experience. The director and book writer were fired from "Aida" after it was a disaster in it's tryout. "Lestat" had a similar disaster in San Francisco but they stubbornly held on to the director and book writer. If WB wants to be involved on Broadway, they need to hire people who know how to put on a show. As for allowing Elton John to submit his score and then vanish for the SF tryout, that should never happen again. He should have been involved "hands on" throughout this especially since WB and the director and the book writer did not know what the heck they were doing. If WB finds a project that will feel will make money on Broadway, they will be back. They don't abandon film when a film flops or TV when a show gets canned.
