Considering that the majority of this board thought WOMEN ON THE VERGE would literally turn water into wine and bring about the second coming of Jesus and Merman simultaneously, I think a "setting expectations" thread is in everybody's best interest.

I hope that Book of Mormon lasts longer than a week on Broadway as an apology for the tepid reaction to the last original musical by Matt Stone and Trey Parker, Team America: World Police.

I hope Priscilla actually brings something new and energetic to Broadway instead of just being a flashier version of "Mamma Mia."

I hope that Douglas Carter Beane's book for Sister Act is super funny and bolsters (at least what I think to be) a pretty great score and a star turn by Patina Miller.

I also hope that Catch Me If You Can is as good as it seems like it's going to be.

chewy5000 Do you mean the Scottsboro Boys?? I think Catch me If you Can is going to be a huge hit. I hope that Ashford doesn't ruin How to Succeed.. and I hope that Kerry Butler's role gets in CMIYC gets more developed so Fly Fly Away isn't her only shining moment.

I hope people actually give WONDERLAND a shot as opposed to listen to the concept recording and bash it consecutively and mention all the things wrong with it despite never seeing it. (EVERYONE saw this one coming!)

Also since this is expectations: I expect people to rave about CMIYC endlessly, so long as it's atleast a step up from The Addams Family and Women/Verge....
