Lewis Black On Broadway Coming to the Marquis in Fall 2016

So i just got an email about the presale for Lewis Black in Black to the Future at the Marquis theater for the following dates:

September 12, 19, 26

October 10

Now I know these are all Mondays where On Your Feet is supposed to be dark, but why is he not playing in a Neaderlander theater that is Open aka the Lunt Fontanne? I know On Your Feet has taken a hit as of late but it still looks like it will be hitting its nut all summer and if anything would close January 2017.

Why on earth would they (the Nederlanders) pay to open up a dark theatre for only 4 performances (and pay another stage crew, hang new lights, run heat/AC, bring in another house and cleaning crew, open and pay another box office staff, etc) --- when they already have a theatre that's open and will require only someone to turn the lights on and off??

Because its not just about turning lights on and off? You also have to pay box office, porters, ushers, house crew, security, etc. I have a feeling it is probably cheaper just to put it in an already operating house than open up a whole new theatre for one performance a week for four weeks. However, I haven't seen the numbers to confirm this. This isn't the first time it has been done though. I was going through every show for the last 10 seasons or so once, and I remember it happening a couple times. I know it happened at the Beaumont, but I remember a commercial house doing it as well (don't remember which one though).

If a load in for a yet-to-be-announced Lunt show is loading in then, it would make it significantly to get the Lunt performance-ready vs using the Marquis

The Nederlanders are not gonna pay for anything; they be the ones that gonna be paid.

I think it's a great idea actually! Nice to see them using an existing space. Id imagine there's no set? Just a curtain and a spot, so easy overhead. Plus the Marquis marquee is digital so they can easily change out the poster on Mondays.
