Posted: 9/25/06 at 2:03pmI love Forbidden Broadway, but I haven't seen it since I was in New York like a year ago, and I was wondering what they do for LITP or some of the other shows out right noww. Thanks!

Posted: 9/25/06 at 2:06pmThe Piazza sketch is supposed to be hilarious. Among the things they poke fun of are the hat on the string (it's on a fishing pole or something, and the actors are jumping frantically to catch it) and Matt Morrison in Hairspray (Fabrizio comes out with a can of hairspray).

it's a grappling hook that they show going down on her head and OBVIOUSLY hooking. they also made fun of Matthew Morrison's hair and have Fabrizio wearing this huge afro wig and Kelly O'Hara's character lifts her dress up over her head.
i nearly sh*t myself it was so funny

Posted: 9/25/06 at 2:11pmI just saw Forbidden Broadway SVU this past weekend in Old Town San Diego. The show is marketed as the New York version, but I am not sure if its the exact same. Basically the actress supposed to be Victoria Clark comes out with the girl playing Clara just like the first scene in Light in the Piazza. The hat is hooked to a string and someone keeps tugging at the string until it eventually flies off. They make fun of Clara's naieve demeanor and make her appear retarded. The also have a Fabrizio who is jumping up and down like a monkey. They also make fun of Adam Guettel's lyrics and comment on how long and boring the musical is. It was funny but the best spoofs were Wicked, Jersey Boys, Les Miserables and Chicago.

I just saw Forbidden Broadway last night.. in NYC.
The piece on Light in the Piassa, was just as it's been described here. With a fishing line grabbing the hat from above.
The funniest bits, were the take offs of Jersey Boys, Mary Poppins, and Les Miserables.
If you're ever in NYC... be sure and catch this show!

It's coming to Alabama? I guess that's not too far for me to drive out to.
Ah, whenever they add new shows somebody needs to inform the board, please! :]

I saw it with Felicia Finley! FREAKING HILARIOUS!
Clara: Motha! MOTHA! WHATHAPPNHEAR!?!
Margaret: I played a brilliant role in a perplexing musical... what did I do?
Clara and Fabrizio sing a parody on "say it somehow" called "sing it somehow" picking on Adam for his operatic music. And Clara neighs like a horse to get Margaret's attention, so Margaret feeds her carrots. It was amazing.

Seriously. Felicia was a Forbidden Broadway veteran.

No, The Coloe Purple wasn't parodied yet. It may be next season. Each season at a minimum they change/update the show.

It is a shame mony of their parodies were not preserved on CD
They should do one CD of such numbers as these. We plan to see it soon

Posted: 10/4/06 at 7:47pmThey usually do a recording when they do a major revision to the show. Some of the sketches were added AFTER SVU was recorded. Personally, I think LITP paraody is one of the funniest they've done in a very long time. Wicked's is pretty lame.
