Damn. This just showed up in my news feed. So horrible. Positive thoughts for her recovery.

NYC hit-and-run victim identified by family, pals as actress Lisa Banes (nypost.com)

Saw her in "The Niceties" at Huntington Theater before it went to MTC. Phenonmenal performance. A master class. One of those character actresses who always delivers. I believe Huntington and MTC have been streaming "Niceties" at no charge. Was just yesterday talking to a friends who watched the stream at my urging and said it did not disappoint. Do yourself a favor and watch and think good thoughts for Ms. Banes. No connection to her, just incredibly moved by her performance and saddened by this tragic occurrence. I hope they catch the POS who did this.

horrible. such a tragedy. are there any updates ? NYC and all the boros of NYC are overrun by these damn e bikes, scooters, etc... the drivers need to be educated.

I remember loving her as Mother Berry in the Hotel New Hampshire film. And the actress who played her daughter Lily in that film and she were reunited as mother and daughter in the original production of Arcadia.

So sorry to hear this terrible outcome.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I watched the stream version of "Niceties" last weekend. She was so direct and immediate that I felt I knew her.So the news of her senseless death hit me as if she had been a friend.

This is horrible, those things need to be banned in NYC. I sincerely hope they catch the person who killed her. Heartbreaking.

Thank you for sharing- was just talking about this last night with some family, very glad to hear they caught the perpetrator. I was only made familiar with The Niceties through a local production, though I did love the show. Glad her performance lives on in MTC's recording. Rest in peace.

I'm not defending the scooter, and I'm not referring to the victim, but the culture of 'go ahead, hit me and I'll sue you' is extremely problematic.
