I was just looking for TLM tickets for December and they cost 145 dollars. Is there a reason why they're so expensive? I wasn't planning on seeing it in December, but in February and I certainly hope they don't stay this expensive.

Yes.
I paid $70.00 for my orchestra seat to see it here in Denver. I think they go up just a few bucks after the official opening. Top price looks like $77.00. Love Denver ticket prices!
Yeah, but I'm talking about Broadwayt tickets.

you might as wel just student rush it then, you know? In my opinion no seat is really a bad seat unless you'rebehind a pole. student rush could be as cheap as 20 bucks.
I know you are talking about Broadway tickets. I was just making sort of a compariosn.

Isabella2- student rush hasn't been announced. how do you know they'll have it? not every show was rush...

true, i just assumed they would have it because it seems like younger people would want to see it. that's why I'm not purchasing my tickets until A) I find out if there is student rush or B) if the prices go down.
I bought mine at the box office at the Lunt-Fontainne and paid $111.50 for the end of November.
I'm thinkinh it'll be SRO or just lottery. Plus, I don't live in NY so I would want tobuy tickets ahead of time.
here is the link for the little mermaid ticket prices on broadway. they dont know about student rush and everything until prob 2 months from now or so.

Grease won't have rush.
Are you sure the $145 tickets weren't around the holidays?
The kinds of younger people that are going to be flocking to THE LITTLE MERMAID are the kind whose Mommies and Daddies will be pulling out their AmEx Gold Cards and buying four tickets at $111.50 a piece. Don't expect anything resembling rush for THE LITTLE MERMAID.
The super expensive tickets were probably around holiday time. All shows raise their ticket prices during that time of year.

I highly doubt there will be any rush for this show, as they are selling both the 1st and last rows of the theater, probable locations to designate for rush. The only rush will prob. be SRO.

The last week of Decemeber is when the prices go up.
I doubt there will be rush for The Little Mermaid. Even if there will be one, it's not a reliable way for out-of-towners to get a ticket since demand's going to be high.
And don't worry about the price. $145 is just for the holidays - it'll be $111.50 by February.

I orderd my MERMMAID tix in early-to-mid June and I have a pair of tickets for teh evening performance on Wednesday, January the 30th. 2 Tickets. Front Row for $111.50 each. With all the service charges applied, it came to $240.10. Pretty freakin' good deal all things considered.

It doesn't seem cheap to me. Not at all.
"i just assumed they would have it(student rush) because it seems like younger people would want to see it"
That's not a great reason, shows like The Lion King, Wicked, etc., target young audiences, yet they don't have student rush.
For 2 front row tickets to a supposed Disney mega-hit musical? I think that's a steal in itself.

Honestly, I wouldn't pay over us$ 120 to see any Broadway show, even if it is a "supposed Disney mega-hit", actually, I would never pay half of that, to see ANY Disney show.
But anyways that's my opinion and Im glad you're happy with your deal. I think Isabella is smart to wait for some kind of student rush, lotto, SRO or any chance they'll offer a discounted service, or at least wait, and pay at the box office(to save the extra fees), but hey, congrats on the killer deal, if you're happy, Im happy!

Question what is the best seating area in the Lunt-Fontanne, especially if you're a tad short?
