so it seems as though their best bet is lighting by Natasha Katz. It seems as though this woman does everything.

All if these are big mights, but Sherie MIGHT get a nom. Danny Troob MIGHT get an orchestrations nom. Menken MIGHT get a score nom. Other than that, I don't think it'll get anything else. While I normally think highly of Natasha Katz's lighting designs, Mermaid's design isn't very good at all. It's rather boring.
It might get nominated (if the Tony committee was blind and deaf)
I think it has a great chance at being nominated, especially for lighting.
Robin, you really think Sierra has a chance at a nomination?
I'm with Michael Bennett. It will not get a single nomination.
This season is jam packed with fresh new musicals, along with revivals of two former Pulitzer Prize winning musicals.
There will be no room to recognize this trash among such spectacular competition.

I would think it would get nominated for Best Musical and best suporting and lead actress and best new score but lets hope the director does not get nominated.and I think Tarzan opened to late. for it even to be nominated.

English.
Yes, wizard, I believe Sierra may be nominated. She is a great actress (see: Act 2), and an amazing singer. I think she has a chance, but overcrowdig may lead to no nod. She has tough competition...

Tarzan was FAR superior to The Little Mermaid. Hell, In My Life was even better. I don't understand how anyone with a brain could like this. Even the rats that live in the Lunt have vacated the premises for fear of being associated with the show.
And this show will not get anything because it doesn't deserve anything. This show pretty much proves Disney Theatricals is exploiting Disney properties fpr a quick buck. Maybe if they decide to do another show they will hire a creative that is actually creative.

I think just about everyone on Broadway is out there to make a quick buck. Most, are foolish though, and should be in another industry if they want to make a quick buck. As I've said before, the orchestrations were good.
It will definately be nominated for lighting and featured actress. I think Sierra has a shot at a nom.
I figured Katz' lighting and Scott would get a nod. After those reviews I wouldn't be shocked if neither one happened. Sierra won't get nominated (though this is the same committee that gave a nod to Laura BLAND Bundy over Kristin Chenoweth's magnificent comic turn in THE APPLE TREE).

Best Musical over what? I even see YF with more chances than Little Mermaid. And score, really? Not with In the Heights, Passing Strange and Cry Baby on its way.
And sorry, Tarzan could've opened early or late, and that wouldn't have made it suck any less.

What about Best Sound Design? Has everyone forgotten that there is a new category of Sound Design this year?

"Tarzan only got nominated for lighting. Lestat got noms for Featured Actress (wtf?!) and Costumes."
Should've been Featured Actor and Costumes. That's right, any chance I get to defend Drew Sarich's performance, I take it.
MERMAID will get the PIRATE QUEEN treatment.
PIRATE QUEEN may have had gorgeous costumes, but it still was completely snubbed. The Nominating Committee didn't want to have to force the voters to sit through that show. They'll likely feel the same way about MERMAID.
