Well since they are offering a dollar and a half an hour
the contracts will take a day or two.

Since the two leads are nobodies
and we know the rest
who really cares?

Are you joking??? A dollar and a half an hour is a psychotic remark...and it's been longer than a day or two..How aweful to call the leads nobodies when clearly they aren't nobodies if they were cast as characters that are well-known to the Disney franchise..and how do you know that we know the rest...do you personally know everyone at the Disney Company? Who knows maybe all of these predictions will all turn out wrong, but maybe you should think before you type and if you don't care then get out of the thread..plain and simple

"Nobodies" is a little harsh. And really, we don't know anything until it's announced. Just because someone read it on his sister's girlfriend's MySpace doesn't make it official. I'm with FutureAladdin on this one: some people do care. Why thread jack with negativity?

Actor-singer-songwriter Tituss Burgess, recently seen as the Cowardly Lion in Des Macnuffs re-imagining of The Wiz, will be featured in the March 12 Artcents Benefit Concert at The Triad in Manhattan. The concert series, sponsored by ASTEP (Artists Striving To End Poverty), usually seeks to expose emerging songwriters, but this time out R and B, pop covers and a few musical theatre songs remixed will be performed. The price of admission is a jar of change — to help bring change to the lives of kids in need.

Joining Burgess will be guest appearances by Marty Thomas (Wicked, Secret Garden), and Cassondra Kellam. Burgess will be backed by a 7 peice band and the evening will be musically directed by Mary-Mitchell Campbell ( Company music supervisor/orchestrator).

Burgess most recently appeared on Broadway in the original casts of Jersey Boys and Good Vibrations. He has also released a solo CD called Here's to You which is available on Itunes and Cdbaby.com. For more information visit www.titussburgess.com.

The concert begins at 7 PM. There is also a two-drink minimum. The Triad is on New York's Upper West Side at 158 W. 72nd St.

Reservations can be made by calling (212) 706-1516 or by sending an email to tickets@createsomethinggood.org.

All proceeds from the concert benefit ASTEP. Visit www.createsomethinggood.org to learn more.

I didn't even know that this show was definetly going to happen. I hope it's good - you never know how these Disney--Broadway shows are going to pan out. But it is one of my all time favorite movies and soundtracks. I want to hear the promo cd!

I guess DISNEY told him not to mention TLM till they make an actual statement, even though everyone knows the cast already.

FutureAladdin - The $1.50/hr comment isn't far-off. Disney Theatricals is notorious for paying minimum...and for all the actors do in their shows, it's disgusting.

Regarding them being "nobodies," they are nobodies. They may be talented, but in the spectrum of fame, they're nobodies.
Who is Sierra Boggess? Mr. and Mrs. Jones and their family have no idea who she is. They don't care, either. Why? They're not seeing the show for the cast. They're seeing it because it's a Disney show.

They could cast Jefferson Mays, do it a la "I Am My Own Wife" (written by the same guy), and only a small percentage of their audience would care. Why? 'Cause this ain't a show you go see for the stars.

People aren't going to see Mary Poppins for Ashley Brown, people aren't going to see The Lion King for Patrick Page. Beauty and the Beast is the only Disney show that stunt casts.

I went to see 'Mary Poppins' for Gavin Creel. 'Little Mermaid' cast!?

I'm willing to bet I was vastly outnumbered by those who went to see it for Mary Poppins though. ;_;

Wow, Curtain Pull Downer, you must be a big Broadway star in a big non-Disney Broadway musical. What are you starring in right now to make the big artistically fulfilling bucks? Seriously, good luck fish cast on your sell out to do be in an original broadway cast. It totally must suck to be them.

Curtain has been right on most every inside tip I have heard from him. I would give him the benifit of the doubt. I hope Michael Arden knows that his fans are sad that he didn't get cast as Eric. That would have been amazing.
