Lose Book of Mormon Lottery ... Then What?
#1Lose Book of Mormon Lottery ... Then What?
Posted: 8/9/11 at 5:12pmI'll be in New York on Saturday, August 27. My goal is to see Book of Mormon. Since I only have one day in the city, I don't want to waste it by sitting in the SRO line all day. My plan is to try my hand at the lottery. My question: If I fail at winning tickets, what are my alternatives? Are there any shows that have rush / discount tickets that I could get to after I lose the lottery and before the show starts? Any help with this would be GREATLY o-ppreciated. Thank you all!

uncageg: There are no rush tickets, just Lotto and SRO.
SRO tickets are sold 1 HOUR PRIOR to the PERFORMANCE, not at the time of the box office opening. But usually by the end of Lotto, the line has exceeded the number of tickets.

You could lose the lotto for MORMON and then go play the lotto for RENT, and then if you lose that too you could go play the lotto for HAIR (bring your Sharpie :)), and you'd still have time to hit up the TKTS booth if you lose that one too... you mean a plan like that?

Here is the synopsis of all the lotteries, etc.

You should be able to find something else to try since BOM draws at 2 hours before curtain and others draw only 1 hour before.

Can you afford premium seats?
If so, continue to check the website. I have been finding that a week before premium tickets are usually available. Also, it is very possible to purchase cancellation tickets the day of the show.
However, these tickets will cost you $300-400 a ticket.
