For those of you in the front row, peak down at the blonde dude conducting, or look over your shoulder at the tv monitors hanging from the balcony, you'll get a peak of Jimmy V. And I don't have to be a stalker to know that broadwayguy. And since when did it become harder to promote from within. Not sure that makes any sense "guy".

The only blonde I'll be lookin' at is the girl with golden hair, Tina Maddigan. I'm just sayin'...

stalker, if the conductor leaves, you just need to bring in someone to learn the keyboard 1 part.
If the conductor leaves and promote the associate, you have to hire a new associate, who must bring ins omeone who must first learn keyboard 2, THEN keyboard 1 and conducting...
Quite simply, it is just less complicated to replace the one person rather than fill one open spot, THEN a second.
Also, by promoting an associate, you have negotiate TWO new contracts rather than 1.

The only natural blond will be JV (nothing against Tina)

Guy - I think if you know anything about MD's you would know that they don't just know one book but kind of have to know what is going on in ALL books. Oh well we shall just have to see how this all works out in the long run. I'm sure Jim will be a valuable asset to the show. And will keep it the high caliber of entertainment it already is.

I have not posted on this site in a long time. However, this conversation about me is kinda crazy. Unless you are an MD, you have no idea what the MD or their associate do. I guess it's safe to officially come out of the TWS closet and say I officially take over as the MD on Tuesday, October 31 (Halloween). Wish me luck. I am honored to have the job and I take it very seriously. Please come see the show. It's fabulous and frankly can't understand why it isn't a huge hit. I completely believe in this show.

Have a nice day.

Richard Blake is definitely doing "Legally Blonde"

Last I heard, he was leaving in mid to early December to begin rehearsals.

It makes me sad that if the show closes on January 7th, he won't be there.

Spencer liff is also slated to return in early December from what I last heard. He is doing the "hairspray" movie right now.

Christian Borle will be playing Emmett, aka Luke Wilson's character and Elle's love interest.
Richard Blake is playing Warner, the a*shole who breaks up with her. He is good at playing the smarmy, "perfect" boyfriend it seems :-P I adore him and can't wait to see him in a new show.
Andy Karl is the UPS guy...

Great, "Jimmy V" came on the board to clarify things. Thank you and I can't wait to see the Wedding Singer again. I may just have to go again on Tuesday night now.

I'm going Saturday night. There's definitely going to be a ton of people this weekend. I'm so thrilled to be seeing this show again.

I don't understand why the grosses don't reflect what people keep saying about sellouts. During the week, the shows must not be very packed. Anyone go during the week? What kind of crowd is there?

re: Love is what we do! - THE WEDDING SINGER appreciation thread.

From what I hear about weekday shows they really are not even close to as packed as the weekends get. And since half the shows take place during the week, not that I'm a math nerd or anything just being logical, sell outs on weekends would DEFINITELY be reflected by the fact that they are 3/4 full total for the entire week put together. They had standing room on Saturday night and I have never heard of them doing that before. In my opinion, which may be right or wrong, their grosses seem to be doing fine to keep them open. A cast member said around sometime last month or maybe a little before that their percentages weren't great (back when they were in the low 60's) but that their grosses were doing fine, so when you compare that to now when their attendance is 15% higher then chances are their grosses are fine where they are too.

But I really don't want to get into that whole debate again soooooooo new topic. Anybody going to see the show anytime soon? I'm really curious to know how Robyn and...shoot I forgot his name, do in the show.

re: Love is what we do! - THE WEDDING SINGER appreciation thread.

Yes, Richard is leaving sometime in December to start rehearsals for Legally Blonde. Stephen, Laura, Kevin, etc., are contracted for a year, through March 30, 2007 (if it remains open that long).

As for the grosses, the show is sold-out on weekends, and half emply earlier in the week. That could mean that the show has found an audience with people in the tri-state area, who work during the week and come into Manhattan on weekends, but not with tourists, who are here during the week.

The question is why, and how to get more people there during the week. But if the producers can't figure that out soon....
