re: Love is what we do! - THE WEDDING SINGER appreciation thread.

Forget his Regan, Kevin Kern as Grandpa had me crying with laughter from the second he hobbled onstage till, like... now. And it wasn't just me, by the way, Amy and Constantine were DYING - Amy had to turn around and try to compose herself. He just looks so ridiculous in the wig and fake mustache, you can't not laugh.

Also, Kevin Kern did the "evvvverything's going to be alllll riiiight" line in a creepy child molester voice and it got a huge laugh.

Oh and btw, Constantine didn't do any adlibbing tonight in Robbie's wedding scene.

And Tina's finale dress is different - but still not the same dress she sees in Act 1. It has a little blazer thingy now!

Ok, I will post the link. I tried to just now but it already expired. I will try to bring over a fresh link of his Showbiz interview later today. You will enjoy it. It is a great interview and they show him in the Wedding Singer with Amy.

I checked out Tina twice, she's totally not my thing. I'm glad people enjoy her though.
Now what would you say if today I started over? Without a thing but this taped together four leaf clover And I'll pretend like everything is already alright And I'll run toward the sun till the castle's out of sight

I was lucky enough to catch both Tina and Laura and I like them both, Tina a little more to be honest because she fit the role a little better (more like Drew Barrymore). However, Laura's voice is a bit stronger...tough call. But after Tina's performance, I was hooked for good!
I made a list of all your faults, it was quite detailed and lengthy too and when I read it through I missed you. Your like a classic Eagles song, you just cant help but sing along even though it sometimes gets annoying too. I just know I want to be wherever I can wake and see you there next to me. **High Fidelity** Love is what I do **The Wedding Singer** Xanadu - Best NEW Musical of the Season!

renthead when was the last time you saw Tina?...I think the first few times she was just warming up with the vocals...NOw she blows Lauras voice out of the water...I can not even listen to the cast recording...Tina has got the POP BELT down The one you need and want to here in these tunes...If I told you needs to be recorded again with Steven and Tina...Now do not get me wrong I love Lauras voice( Nine.. WOoods)...WOW...she is amazing....BUT LAURA's Voice is SO NOT THIS SHOW !!! and Leagirl you have never liked Tina...I would not expect you to change your mind

Now that's not true, I liked Tina in Mamma Mia.

Nine is my favorite show (and I spent my whole life listening to it because it is my mother's favorite as well) - why shouldn't it be my avatar? And what does that have to do with the topic at hand? I honestly did enjoy Tina in Mamma Mia... I thought she was adorable. I also really love Victoria Clark but she isn't represented in my avatar...do I not enjoy Light in the Piazza?

And I enjoy Mamma Mia but um... not enough to have it as my av.

re: Love is what we do! - THE WEDDING SINGER appreciation thread.

fanohmight, I have seen Tina multiple times, and I do not like her performance. And it has nothing to do with her being Laura's understudy, I just dislike the way she plays the part. I'm not a fan of her vocals either. While I'll admit she has improved in that department (I saw her once in early July, once last month, and once this past Saturday), she's still not my cup of tea.
l love you without knowing how... or when... or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride.
I love you because I know no other way than this.

re: Love is what we do! - THE WEDDING SINGER appreciation thread.

Moving on...

I just remembered a few more things from last night. Victory!

When Tina made her first entrance and tossed the plate, Stephen missed catching it, which made the wedding party's reactions even funnier. My friend and I were snickering because Tina was like, "...nice...save...?" and Stephen was cracking up and said, "Almost!!" So cute.

Also, when Tina walked offstage with all the balloons for the bachelorette party, one of them popped really loudly.

Tina as drunk!Julia gets crazier and crazier. I don't think anything she said actually came out as real words last night. It was really funny.

At stagedoor, Felicia was talking to a bunch of people who'd come multiple times, saying that for the next two weeks it's especially important to get people to 'fill up the house' because of slow ticket sales this time of year. It was kind of sad to see her asking people to come back - this show is better than that.

And this is random, but I remembered some other things from last week - Felicia accidentally put Robbie's Van Halen shirt on backwards. And her "Let Me Come Home" was the best I've ever heard it (maybe she was inspired by Kevin Kern's hotness?) - I'd never heard her change it up vocally before but she RIPPED it last week.

re: Love is what we do! - THE WEDDING SINGER appreciation thread.

Lucky for me I will be seeing the show "hopefully" twice this weekend if I can make it down early enough on friday. I got tickets to see a couple shows on the New York Musical Fest. Nothing like seeing Kelli O'Hara and Amy Spanger on the same night. You can't beat it! As for Tina, I was at the performance when her show fell right off and landed in the audience and from there on....totally classic night. I love those messups! I am kind of excited to see these new cast members, I havent heard anything bad about them yet (Constantine and of course Andy Karl)

I remember that!! That seriously was hands down her best "Let Me Come Home" I'd ever heard. I was just sitting there with my jaw dropped a little.

I think Felicia gets better with every performance. Each time I've seen it, that song gets better and better. I don't know how she does it.
I thought I knew but now I know that rose trees never grow in New York City

re: Love is what we do! - THE WEDDING SINGER appreciation thread.

I still don't get why youtube is a big no no here if it's video of something legally filmed - like this interview. I can understand them being all "BOO HISS *angry face*" over a youtube video of a bootleg, but .. oh well, whatever. LOL

re: Love is what we do! - THE WEDDING SINGER appreciation thread.

thespian: Ahh thank you for confirming that! I knew I wasn't crazy! (Well I am crazy, but for other stuff.) Felicia is always kickass but the best "Let Me Come Home" was hands-down the one we saw last week. I don't think last night's was as good. (But the insane 2 minutes of applause afterwards made up for it.)
