Yes!! I didn’t expect this change when I was watching that number and it was amazing! Gustave even hit the high note at the end, granted I think the key is different from the original.

Awesome! I saw the original London production three times and I have the DVD from Australia, and this is a change from both of them that was apparently only done (so far) in the German version. I think it's brilliant and I'm delighted that they're doing it for the U.S tour!

Please go away. Yes, you're entitled to your opinion, which you've already made quite clear; why continue to spend your time in this thread, thrashing your dead horse?

I am seeing this show in Baltimore and I can't wait. At first, I think I had the mid-set of hating it...and honestly, when I saw the DVD for the first time I didn't like it....BUT as I watched it a few more times I started to LOVE it. I'm not a fan of Christine dying, I think that's a little over-the-top, but I love the show and can't wait to see it in a few weeks.

I also scored a 2010 London Opening night LND jacket at the flea market...it's FREAKIN AMAZING. :)

This is dumbest musical in history and I can't wait to watch it get terrible reviews and crash and burn.

Lot666 I'm trying to prevent people from wasting their money on this sexist piece of crap.

By any chance, did you used to run that Love Should Die website and picket the Adelphi Theatre in London?

Please, get a hobby or adopt a puppy.

I wish I ran Love Should Die, and I wish they'd update it. I do have dogs and an active social life. I simply can't pass up to opportunity to bash Love Never Dies or the man that BWW's self appointed police tell me not to mention.

If I posted multiple times about how it's so realistic for a man who's only interaction with alcohol is stealing the champagne bottle from the managers to become an alcoholic, or for Meg to become a strip tease artist or the Phantom to write the lyric "what a cutie, what a peach" or for the Phantom to have a perfect, undeformed son, or for the Phantom to nail and bail and then complain about how sad his life is or for Madame Giry, a woman who is protective of her daughter in the original, to force her to become a prostitute, or how amazing it is that Christine gets shot by her former best friend and bloodlessly dies in her abuser/stalker's arms, would that be considered a waste of time?

Anyway this is going to fail and I just want to thank everyone on this board who tells me to shut up (or even in some cases, die, can't remember if it was you Lot666 or the other guy, phantomfan something). You only encourage me to spread the gospel of Love Never Dies sucking and James Barbour's crimes and lack of talent.

This is dumbest musical in history

It's literally not.

If I posted multiple times about how it's so realistic...

Okay, you can stop right there.  The word "realistic" should never be a part of a critique of either this or the original source musical (or novel, for that matter).  And your plot quibbles you oddly posted are rather generic and make a lot of assumptions without taking other factors into consideration, like the passage of time or that persons with physical abnormalities have children born without abnormalities all the time (not that anything in the musical has to justify it).  I mean, I don't like the plot, either, but a lot of the stuff you mention is pretty standard run-of-the-mill suspension of disbelief when your starting point is Phantom of the Opera.  Some of it is clumsily explained and some of it should be re-written, but generally speaking, nothing about any of the characters or plots of either musical could ever be considered "realistic".  I think when you say "I simply can't pass up to opportunity to bash Love Never Dies", you've pretty much told us all we need to know.  For whatever personal reason you have against this show more than any other, you're going to take pleasure in being malicious whenever the topic is brought up.  Got it.

Fantastic Lot...  lol...

Never understood people who have so little to do with their lives then to bash something.  I could give you a list of shows I've hated.  Can't work up the energy to even go on those threads and look for a fight.  I suppose it's true - some people are desperate for any attention... even negative attention

Exactly. There are many examples of entertainment/art across the fields of movies, music, theater, and more, that I have no interest in, but I don't spend my time in online forums "bashing" them. In this particular forum, I don't bother to read threads about shows or performers that I don't care for. I can't imagine the emptiness of a life that compels one to embark on such crusades to fill the hours.

Ignoring whatever else is going on up there....at least for the Detroit performances, there are a number of $39 tickets available. It's definitely cheaper than the Jersey Boys tour.

Why? How does doing so enhance your life? Kind of pathetic! If you don't like it, move along. I don't like the story, but the score, sets and costumes are amazing.
