"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
I agree with all those who have said this was a model tribute/fundraiser concert. Many of these I've attended have been very hit-or-miss affairs that are slackly-paced and have the aura of a second-rate variety show. But this concert was consistently sharply directed and performed. A delight all the way--and, yes, to hear Lansbury sing on Broadway again was the icing on the cake. Did anyone take down a song list? I tried to remember who did what and when, but only came up with a partial list--and I'd like to have a complete "play list" to put in the program.
