Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere yet, but from ATC:


A friend of mine just went on a cruise that Patti Lupone headlined in the Caribbean, just after Gypsy's closing.

She does a great concert (coulda woulda shoulda) people are videoing and taking pictures the whole show...she does all her greatest Don't Cry for me Arg., Being Alive, Some People, Ladies who Lunch, and finally at the end...

as a closer, she sings "...just the way you look tonight"...with a disposable camera...and takes pictures of the crowd the whole time.


Too funny.
Lupone is funny...she gets her photo revenge...

It would have been funnier if an audience member had stopped the show right there and demanded her camera be thrown overboard.

- Lol. She has a very busy year in store. Her tour with Mandy. Her solo shows in Vegas. And a guest appearance on 30 Rock. And of course there's the GYPSY in London rumors. The woman will have no problem finding work.

The cruise was the Atlantis gay cruise on Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas, the world's largest cruise ship: 3,700 gay men (and some lesbians) on a "floating paradise" to San Juan, St Maarten and Labradee--a private island that becomes "the Caribbean’s only all-gay island for the day, featuring pristine beaches, breathtaking scenery, and a host of spectacular water activities."

The other entertainment on the ship included 5 DJ's for the legendary Atlantis all-night shirtless sweaty dance parties and cabaret, nightclub and piano-bar performers, including a gay hypnotist, Alec Mapa, Scott Nevins, Lindsay Alley and the VGL Boys.

Patti was the headliner.

I wonder if she asks the crowds for THEIR autographs at the stage door? She should be all fussy and pushy asking that they sign multiple items and look all pissy if they aren't completely obliging.

I wonder when Patti was booked by Atlantis to perform on this cruise. I bet whoever books their entertainment worked really fast to get her once it was announced that Gypsy was closing. Or was she originally scheduled to have that week off from Gypsy, had the show still been running? Anybody know?
