I saw Luba perform at the Broadway and Bryant Park series this summer on July 28. She was in the third act, it being Chicago. I saw the rehersal and the actual concert. Her "All That Jazz" blew me away, and I was in shock of how good she is. I do not like Bebe on the cast recording of the revival, and I'm so used to her that Luba was phenominal. "I Am My Own Best Friend" wowed me too. I just fell in love with Luba so much. She seemed perfect for the role, and was currently new to the Chicago stage when I saw the concert, too.

Saw her as Lucy in Jekyll and Hyde. Unbelievable voice and she is so beautiful. I love her to bits!

She is amazing. And underrated. Her debut album is just fabulous. She is planning to release an album of showtunes, which will be amazing!

She is also one of the nicest Broadway stars I've had the pleasure to meet! What a super nice lady!

I too saw her as Lucy in Jekyll and Hyde 2 years ago. It was the anniversary production in Houston put on by TUTS. She blew me away. Im so glad to see that she is doing so well on Broadway!

I love Luba! Did anyone see that special on TRIO that talked about flops in the media and they featured THE CAPEMAN and they interviewed her...She was so funny!

I heard about the TRIO special but I've never seen it, darn! That's not a channel I get - maybe it will turn up somewhere else.

She was a fantastic Velma!

Each Velma brings something special and unique to the role. And for Luba it was her soulful and amazing singing. Her acting was also perfect - her dancing was passable she just didn't give the choreography it's full life.

But she is a fantastic performer!

the night in october that i saw "chicago" with muscle23ftl, i think luba was having an off night. she was not as good as i remembered her when i saw her in the beginning of september. i have seen the show 4 times and my favorite combination so far is Bebe and Karen.

(i know this is supposed to be an appreciation thread so i apologize for posting something slightly negative)

I remember seeing Brooke after the show signing authographs...she was smiling to everyone all the time...what a graceful star!!! and people telling her how much they love her...and all that...that's my idea of a total DIVA!
