MADONNA at THREEPENNY OPERA TODAY!

MADONNA was at Threepenny Opera,..Carlos Leon (Lourdes' dad) is in the show. He acknowledged a funny smile to her from the aisle. Madonna looked incredible!
She looked like a 19 year old girl! What a body...wow! she sat 5 rows in front of me, by the aisle, went to the bathroom at intermission...and sat for awhile prior to the show opening with two friends...very very 'human'....staff and security were extra alert....just in case crazyness happened..but she seemed very down to earth. I'm so glad I got to see that side of her. She was laughing alot before the show and during intermission. The current tour must have her whipped to maximum shape, she looked amazing....she must be in town cuz the tour kicks off at MSG this wednesday night. It was a great afternoon! oh yeah, the show was okay, I'm glad I saw it. but I always had issues with the show to begin with.

ah - yoga and pilates, my old friend...the wonders you bring
"...But Kungurtseva reels off multiple fouettes and the tape is stopped so she can take a bow. The Jester, an abomination introduced to Swan Lake in Soviet times, extorts applause from the audience. The cuts don't help the storytelling, the production is bare bones and they go for the '50s-style happy ending. The audience cheers like mad at the end. It's the Russian ballet, after all..."

Did people go up to her?

Aww, well BCR I hope you got to meet her after the show!
And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps... What did she realize, Kitten? That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs. What's wrong with that? Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had... Where? On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.

"Oh please, the show beats seeing Madonna any day of the week. And this is coming from a gay man."

Thank you, FoscasBohemianDream. That made me smile.

re: MADONNA at THREEPENNY OPERA TODAY!

Well, the fact that she could still sellout 6 nights at Madison Square Garden and the rest of her 60 dates of her tour after 24 years in this fickle music business says alot. And I'm sure no one in ThreePnny Opera could sellout one night at MSG. With over 60 top 40 singles and 38 #1 dance songs..yeah,...it's like seeing an amazing electric energy, whether you like her or not. SHe is an Elvis or Michael of her time. Except most superstars succumb to drugs, bloating, death or scandal....Madonna has survived all that. There's still an energy and excitement there.....and she looked amazing.

and to answer some others..
Yeah people were standing by her...but to my amazement..people looked abit stunned..so they were silent or gawking...but she had a baseball cap on during intermission and prior to the show....and stayed lowkey.....staff and security stayed close...but she did line up to go to the bathroom...

it is amazing the powers of yoga and pilates..and of course,..performing around the world every other night.

>>>Except most superstars succumb to drugs, bloating<<

Isn't bloating usually a result of some sort of drug use or illness?

She walked right past me. I was at the stage door around 4:45 P.M. deciding if I should wait for Alan and Cyndi. Suddenly, the door opens and she walks right past everyone into her waiting black SUV. I said to someone "Was that Madonna?" The person said "No!" I thought I was going crazy.....glad to know I wasn't.

AND cosmetic surgery.

re: MADONNA at THREEPENNY OPERA TODAY!

Cosmetic surgery doesn't make someone's BODY look that fab.
oh come on, she's 47 and most 19 year olds wished they had her legs and arms and waist. She truly was amazing to see. And what she has accomplished in let alone the last 5 years,..most people can't do in their lifetime....so it was nice to be sharing a theatre moment with a megastar. She's one of the world's biggest pop icons...it was very cool to see her in the middle of her most succesful tour to date...and watch her at Threepenny Opera. It was a treat!

re: MADONNA at THREEPENNY OPERA TODAY!

Ooh - I guess that means they are going to re-open the show with Madonna as Jenny!

After all, whenever a celebrity goes to see a show, it automatically means that celebrity is going in as a replacement - right?

re: MADONNA at THREEPENNY OPERA TODAY!

I'm not sure if that's true of most 19 year old girls, but I'm sure that most body builders would want her legs. I bet she could crack a man's neck with those massive thighs.

My friend's uncle once attended some charity dinner and Madonna ended up being seated at his table. He said that they spent half the evening discussing musicals, so I guess she has some appreciation for the art form.
