Following a performance at the 2019 Stars in the Alley, BroadwayWorld can officially report that Mary Kate Morrisey will be playing Janice on the first national tour of Mean Girls.

LOVE THIS!

She absolutely killed it as Elphaba last year, and I distinctly remember leaning over to my friends during the show just commenting about how much she sounds like Barrett Wilbert Weed. This role will be great for her.

This is so exciting! I loved her as Elphaba, so I’m definitely thinking about making the two hour drive to Des Moines when the tour is there in October. Mary Kate is a STAR, and she’s going to be amazing in this role!

She's incredible! Saw her as standby with the Wicked tour several years ago, and then saw her 4 times on tour last spring. She's going to kill this role!

(Also, still hoping that we'll see her back in the green make-up at the Gershwin in the next few years.)

They're probably gonna cast Tee Boyich as Cady Heron.

This is probably just me, but I hope Jessica Vosk will be cast in the Kerry Butler track. She’d be so hilarious.

Tee has sworn up and down that even though she was doing promotional work for the show, she wasn't going on tour.

Just putting it out there that I’d love to see Jessica Keenan Wynn as Regina George. Might be a little on the nose sense she originated Heather Chandler off-Broadway, but I think she would slay.

Jonalyn is in the new West Side Story remake, which reportedly starts filming in June.

Pure ideas: Allison Bailey as Gretchen Weiners. Beka Burnham as Cady Herron. Olivia Valli as Regina George. Yes, I know all these actors are from the Wicked North America Tour :)

I personally want Allison as Regina or Karen. Lauren Zakrin as Regina would be really great. Olivia is doing jersey boys so I doubt she’ll be leaving that anytime soon. Does anybody have a guess when they’ll be announcing the rest of the cast?

No idea, but Mallory Bechtel’s DEH exit lines up pretty perfectly with this tour. Just a thought and very (obvious) casting.

I've heard that Lauren Zakrin is doing the tour, as one of the Plastics... someone seems to have also leaked it on her Instagram account in the comments.

I definitely agree about Allison Bailey! I think she could play a really impressive Regina. I’ve only heard her sing the National Anthem for a Blue Wahoos baseball game in Pensacola but she’s so talented! Lord knows that girl loves to travel, too! She left the Wicked tour and went back with them for a limited time after. She definitely looks the part, too! However, I don’t think she would be signing on to mean girls since she just finished up with Wicked and the mean girls tour starts so soon. But you never know!

Lauren Zakrin has said on social media that she will be in San Francisco for a year. So chances are pretty good that she will be in the SF "Cursed Child" cast.
