Caught it last night and it is heartbreakingly disappointing.

I saw the first act last night.
On some level I feel like it's intentionally a mess or something.

Yes, it's a disaster on all levels.
The only plus for me was Halley Feiffer running around in a sheer nightgown for 10 minutes.

Posted: 5/22/12 at 3:41pmI agree with others that it is a mess, but I think it will improve (only 1 week of previews so far), and that it is nonetheless interesting and worth seeing. If you don't like big sloppy theatre, this is not for you, however.

Posted: 6/5/12 at 12:00pmI went last night and it was AWFUL. I bolted at intermission. Its not funny- like a really bad SNL or MadTV sketch. The "jokes" fell flat and I felt embarrassed for the actors. The sex scene and the dinner scene at the end of act one were awkward. SKIP IT!

I attended the third preview and i also left after the first act. I felt bad since i was sitting on the first row center, but this was awful.
The worst thing is that i felt that the actors knew the play is bad. At one point right after the "sex scene" of Act 1, when the 2 protagonist are alone on stage, Hamilton was laughing while saying his lines. Donovan told him "Stop laughing" a couple of times (while also laughing) and Hamilton replied "Nobody's paying attention anyway". Lol. That was the funniest moment of the show.
