Well that answers that. What does everyone think about sticking with their Chicago cast for the quartet as opposed to casting New York actors?

Ok, I had no interest in this up until now. Love them both. And Yankee, that's a pretty huge statement for someone who's only done, what, one big thing in New York? Have you even seen her in anything else? Come on now.

60's music in Memphis? I've heard of this before.

How many of those who say it sounds boring because it's the Chicago cast have SEEN the Chicago cast? Sounds like a lot of sour grapes to me -- "must be boring cause they're not New York actors"???

I saw the show twice in Chicago and the quartet are all OUTSTANDING. Casting is difficult as they really need to come off as those four guys. My only objections with the Chicago company was that I wasn't thrilled with the female or the station manager, so this makes sense to me.

I have nothing against the Chicago cast. I don't know them. I'm just curious how people felt about the casting. I'm glad they're making their broadway debuts

The strongest in the Chicago cast was Jerry Lee Lewis. He actually had presence. The Elvis, on the other hand, was dreadful.

This is just a rock concert with a story weakly woven in. I'll definitely be passing because I did not like it at all in Chicago, but I hope for them that they have made edits.

"The Elvis, on the other hand, was dreadful."

After years of over the top Elvis impersonators, I LOVED this guy. This was "early" Elvis -- the shy, but overly polite and quiet Southern boy, not the over the top later Vegas one. I thought the actor captured the "young" Elvis perfectly and avoided what would be an easy over the top Elvis impersonation.

I think all the guys were great. Of course the one playing Jerry Lee Lewis stands out because THAT character is the stand out and the one with the most over the top personality -- speaking as well as singing. Sure he was great, but let's not mix up the character with the actor.
