According to librettist Bob Martin ("The Drowsy Chaperone") Minsky's, a new musical comedy, may premiere on Broadway in 2011, with Casey Nicholaw ('The Drowsy Chaperone,' 'Monty Python’s Spamalot') expected to direct and choreograph.

Looks like it is coming after all? The section on the article site is called "Broadway Rumour News Report"... Would they do another try-out? It's been a while since they did the full production in California.

Hasn't this been "aiming" for B'way since its inception? Most of what I've HEARD has been less than favorable.
I know Kristin Chenoweth was in rehearsals for this show for a bit, but this brand of musical comedy has Sutton Foster written all over it.
An interesting movie, with a good writing/production team - this I would like to see, despite the nasty comments about the Western production.
may premiere on Broadway in 2011....
That doesn't sound very promising. I do like the film...It's aired on TCM a number of times and it's always made me laugh.
The production in L.A. last year bore very little resemblance to the film. It was a meet/cute standard B'way musical story with a terrific performance from Christopher Fitzgerald, and Beth Leavel making magic out of nothing.
