I went to the theater today to ask about standing room. They said they were not offering it and do not have a standing room policy. When I inquired about how other people have gotten them to previous performances they said they have only offered it once. Oh well.
Seems like this will be the 2nd star driven disappointment this season. The first appears to be the Pacino vehicle.

Strange, BroadwayLuv2, I just inquired at the box office at noon if they were offering Standing Room for tonight's performance and the box office attendant said "It looks very unlikely," which I took to mean that the show was not close to selling out. He made no mention that they don't have an SRO policy.

I was there yesterday and was told that they would only start selling SRO in a few weeks from now. Seems like they haven't really made up their minds yet.

^^^^^^^ That's pretty common.
It takes awhile to figure out your audience. Many if not most theaters don't offer standing room in previews, and almost none do if they aren't sold out.

I just saw the show tonight and was pleasantly surprised. Bruce Willis I think is improving a bit, because while he seemed a bit subdued at the beginning, he really seemed to come into his own throughout the rest. Laurie Metcalf is of course delivering a great performance and gives a slightly different take on the performance than Kathy Bates (she's a bit more campy and seems to know that she's a ****ing psychopath a little more than Bates' take.) It works.
The production itself was overall pleasing with a great set by David Korins. I took the $89 mid mezzanine seats (row F on the aisle) and it was a very good view. At first I thought maybe I couldn't see Metcalf too clearly but that's kinda because she looks different in this than usual (with her costume and hairstyle). Overall, it was a fun night and I'd recommend it at a mid-low price ticket.
By the way, I wasn't in the mood to stage door because I heard they were both not very nice, but I was walking around after and spotted Willis come out after about 10-15 minutes and he signed for the barricade closer to Broadway and then left. But he tipped his cap to the people on the other side and waved to the people on the other side of the street. He seemed surprisingly nice. I don't know if Laurie Metcalf came out because after Willis everyone left and they put the barricades away, but she might have come out before Willis. Just letting anyone interested know.
Any info on cheaper tickets? I'm holding out for Standing Room but seems like they have plenty of tickets left for each performance.
They released a good chunk of the mezzanine for tonight's opening, ranging from $155, to $99, to $79, if anyone is interested.
