MISS SAIGON headed back to Broadway?

It uses the scaled down skeletal tour set. Some minor differences, the biggest being that instead of a projected helicopter, they have a real one. A lot smaller compared to the original production.

It is not scaled down at all. It is bigger than the original from all reports...

Except it's NOT bigger. As Wildcard said, this is a smaller production than the original.

"I thought there was a union rule that didn't allow scenery being transferred to Broadway if it wasn't built by the local union builders."

Pretty sure the amazing grace set was built in England. For the Chicago run at least.

I do know that there were some sets for Phantom that were transferred over here via boat from England. However, that was long ago so there could easily have been changes in the union rules between then and now.

However, Fiddler is opening up at The Broadway this fall. Don't know how long that will run for, but I feel that that's something that can put the Broadway theatre out of contention for the Saigon revival at least for now.

If this production fares well when it opens, do you think it would increase the chances of a movie version being produced. I just think that the scope of the story is so big that it would work really well on screen. Or is the story not relate able enough for a movie going audience?
