On 5/28!
Couldn't be more excited about this one! It will be Karen and not Caissie as Sara.
MURDER BALLAD Cast Album Gets 5/28 Release
Already pre-ordered it. Can't wait. I hope to be able to see it again.
Did anybody else pre-order theirs through Yellow Sound Label and not get any shipping details or idea of it being shipped? It was released yesterday, so I was wondering. Yes, I realize it has been at the theater, but I don't live in NYC.
Marianne, I had the same experience.
I got a confirmation number, but never a follow-up email. I emailed the label the day before yesterday and they had no record of my order.
My card wasn't charged so I re-ordered from amazon and it came today.
Weird. I guess I will follow up with them first.
I just downloaded the album (haven't listened to it yet)and was wondering if someone wouldn't mind giving me a quick synopsis of the plot?

Anyone correct me if I am wrong, I am going off of seeing the show in December, so I may be a little muddy on the specifics.
Sara and Tom have a steamy relationship. Their relationship seems largely based on sex and adventure. They break up and Sara marries and has a child with Michael, a more stable man. ***SPOILERS FROM HERE ON OUT*** Eventually, she becomes bored with being a stay-at-home mom and goes out looking for adventure. She meets back up with Tom (who is also in a relationship at the time, but we don’t see her) and they begin an affair. Eventually Sara decides that she wants to end the affair and stay in her marriage. By this time, however, Tom wants Sara back completely and, when she pulls away, he just continues trying to get her back (at one point showing up when she is at a park with her family, pleading that he leave her husband for him). Michael finds out about this affair, but Sara pleads with him that she made a mistake and wants to stay in the relationship. (Here is where I think I am a bit fuzzy on the details). They all end up, one night, at a bar that Tom owns. If I remember correctly, Michael goes with the intentions of beating up/killing Tom and Sara goes with the intentions of killing Tom (I don’t believe Sara or Michael knew the other one would be there). Throughout the whole show, there has been a narrator guiding us in the story. She then comes into play in these last moments and identifies herself as Tom’s girlfriend, who, the night they are all at the bar, ends up being the one to kill Tom for cheating on her. ***END SPOILERS***

Thanks. Sounds like it will be a fun and interesting listen.
This recording has been on instant replay since I purchased it. I can't stop listening to it. I'm pleased that Karen Olivo got the opportunity to preserve a part of her performance through this recording.
I loved the album, and reviewed it for Houston Press!
