I'm actually surprised (but happy) that they did WICKED up by the castle. Classy choice. I'll tell you one thing that does piss me off; everytime that sad sob story about Christina Applegate comes up...Charlotte rarely ever gets credit for saving that show! Keeping it going long enough for Christina to get better...That's ****ty.

AHHH Where is Mr. Esparza????

Oh and I loved the cleaned-up lyrics to Great Big Stuff. I can't believe they had to take out the suicidal line and the "hummers in my Hummer." But Norbert looked fantastic - and at least his costume was warmer than the girls. I felt so bad for them... but they are on national tv... re: Macy's Thanksgiving Parade w/Bway

I wish Sweet Charity would stop performing Brass Band at every last thing they go to... that was quite possibly the lowest point in the show for me. But I love another excuse to watch Norbert do Great Big Stuff... even if it is dumbed down, hee.

Does it seem like the B-way performances are really early (and close knit this year?) And what the heck could Raul need time off for?

Have to give Andrew Lippa his props -- that opening number was the least annoying and most clever opening I ever remember from a parade. It was about as un-annoying (I know that's not a word) as a large group of kids singing can really be...yes, I'm a teacher. Believe me, I have experience.

Um, DRS needs to stop doing Great Big Stuff..... it is a terrible number when pulled out of the show and G rated... They should have done Here I Am......

Anyone else enjoying the tap sounds coming from the Rockets who are wearing shoes without taps?? Gotta love the "production" of the Macy's day parade...

As opposed to the "Boscov's Thanksgiving Day Parade" we get in Philly, where there are 100 teenagers dancing to a Grease Megamix wearing bad dance recital costumes!

Arg! I saw Sweet Charity (disappointing), Great Big Stuff (new lyrics were...interesting? dont get why they had to change the suicidal part though) and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (cute..then came to this post and found out I had missed all the good stuff on CBS....I thought it would all be on later re: Macy's Thanksgiving Parade w/Bway very very diappointing.

re: Macy's Thanksgiving Parade w/Bway

Umm. Guys, it's pretty obvious why Charity did BRASS BAND. The line "I'm the band at Macy's big parade." Plus it's the most flashy number, with it's ensemble as a "brass band." It fits perfectly for the parade.

Maybe some of you didn't catch on to that.

I missed the performance of GBS earlier...does anyone know if/where I could find the video of it? Will it be repeated on television, on the Scoundrels site, on Broadway.com, on Broadwayworld.com? Thanks.

Poop. I guess we only get the Detroit Thanksgiving Parade here on CBS, not the CBS New York Parade.

re: Macy's Thanksgiving Parade w/Bway

Hmmm. Well, from a purely "national commercial for our show" standpoint, (because that's what these spots are, in essence) I think each show did what they needed to do to sell the product.... except perhaps DRS. I know they want to showcase the Tony-winner, but honestly, I agree with those who say "Here I Am" would have been a better choice. "Great Big Stuff" just didn't play right with all the cut out stuff and obviously re-written lyrics. The people I'm spending the holiday with looked a bit bored, sadly. No matter how much I've spoken about the show to them and how great it is. *sigh*

Here's what I also heard from those people around me (not Broadway-savvy at all... really...):

- "The Four Seasons!!! I love the Four Seasons!!! Kay, why didn't you tell me there was a show with Frankie Valli in it??"
- "He's... uhm... not really IN it. That's an actor. Frankie Valli is a lot older now... I'm quite sure."
- "... oh. ... Well, we're still getting tickets."

- "I wanna see Chitty! Chitty Kitty.." (Okay, younger relative, but I digress... she recognized the name from the movie)
*~* Every time you double-post, God kills a kitten. *~*

Anyone have any idea when Kristin Chenoweth will be on the parade singing from Oklahoma?
