Hmmm. Well, from a purely "national commercial for our show" standpoint, (because that's what these spots are, in essence) I think each show did what they needed to do to sell the product.... except perhaps DRS. I know they want to showcase the Tony-winner, but honestly, I agree with those who say "Here I Am" would have been a better choice. "Great Big Stuff" just didn't play right with all the cut out stuff and obviously re-written lyrics. The people I'm spending the holiday with looked a bit bored, sadly. No matter how much I've spoken about the show to them and how great it is. *sigh*
Here's what I also heard from those people around me (not Broadway-savvy at all... really...):
- "The Four Seasons!!! I love the Four Seasons!!! Kay, why didn't you tell me there was a show with Frankie Valli in it??"
- "He's... uhm... not really IN it. That's an actor. Frankie Valli is a lot older now... I'm quite sure."
- "... oh. ... Well, we're still getting tickets."
- "I wanna see Chitty! Chitty Kitty.." (Okay, younger relative, but I digress... she recognized the name from the movie)

Kay, the Thread-Jacking Jedi
Quando omni flunkus moritati (When all else fails, play dead...)
"... chasin' the music. Trying to get home."
Peter Gregus: "Where are my house right ladies?!"
