I'm watching two different TVs at the same time in hopes of not missing anything.

They screwed up GBS? How... expected, but still off-putting.

Well, let's see.

Charity's performance was okay. Christina's voice, in my opinion, was shaky.

DRS's family friendly was pretty good. I'm so used to hearing the cuss words in there, but that was fine by me, as long as I got see Norb and the ensemble perform!

Chitty's performance was good, but I'm dissapointed that Raúl wasn't performing. It made me sad, and the understudy that went on didn't thrill me.

What the puck?!

After seeing todays parade, I am convinced that Carrie Underwood could be charity. See certanily has a pleasant enough voice and charm. I bet she would be thrilled.

And can Carrie Underwood dance or act? The dancing and acting for Charity are WAY more important than the singing.

I wasn't thrilled with the performances. Christina was very good, probally the best she's danced for national televison. And no one can deny how much her dancing has improved. And her pre recorded singing was also fine.

But still nothing topped my thrill of last years Brooke Shield's "Swing!" performance. That was a big highlight last year for many of us.

Spelling Bee's performance was wonderful. "See our bee." Overall, just a great little piece. (Ticked me off that they muted "titup", though. Poor Jose... NOTHING he sings is family-friendly in that show.)

I only wish I could...

It was really obvious that Cheno was lipsyncing. But she was good anyhow. LOVED the last note.

DRS's girls were probably freezing. Norbert was great, despite the lyrics. (Coming out my NOSE?) I agree that Here I Am would've been a better choice, though.

Anyone else think that Chitty would've done better with a different song? I'd've liked to see Bombie Samba or You Two. I was also irked that Raul didn't perform, but what can ya do?

Oh, I so wish Chitty would have done "Bombie Samba." I got the cast recording recently, and cannot get that out of my head! "For there is no retreat... From the Bombie Samba beat!"

Oh Therese - you've fallen under the spell of the Sherman Brothers! From the men who brought you "it's a small world" comes the earworms of Chitty! re: Macy's Thanksgiving Parade w/Bway

LOL, I have to admit a soft spot, having grown up on Chitty, Mary Poppins, Bedknobs & Broomsticks, and their Disney parks music (in addition to Small World, I believe they also did the Tiki Room song and "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" for the Carousel of Progress). re: Macy's Thanksgiving Parade w/Bway

Yup they are also responsible for park songs like the Tiki Room and Great, Big Beautiful Tomorrow - along with Magic Journeys, One Little Spark, Makin' Memories, Meet the World, No Place Like World Showcase... etc...

They also wrote the songs for the Winnie the Pooh films, Sword in the Stone, Charlotte's Web, The Happiest Millionaire, The One and Only Genuine Original Family Band... I could go on and on...

the song sung by DRS was as bad as the show itself!

DRS - very interesting change in words. It made me laugh, they were really cheesy. I don't understand why they chose Great Big Stuff if they knew they were going to have to change the lyrics.

Chitty - I wish I had seen Raul, becuase that would have probably been my only shot, because I can't see it before it closes. Erin looked adorable though.

Bee - it was weird. I don't know if I particularly liked it, it was kind of awkward. I don't really like the song either, so maybe that was it.

Charity - whatever. I wasn't expecting anything, and it did worse than I thought. I don't consider Christina to be a Broadway anything.

Wicked - Megan & Shosana sounded good together. It was kind of awkward to see really close ups on their faces, because I'm not used to it. The scenery was nice though.

Cheno - it was cute. I'm glad I caught it, luckily my automatic reaction of pressing record worked just in time.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

Lijay 889,
I agree about that part. Although, it does not seem that people, producers (aka .. especially tourists) give a damm. We theatergoers are very spetical about the next charity. Carrie seems to have a sly way, which may work. Believe me, if see got the craziness from Simon on American Idol, she should be used to it. Her personality fits the role, which is way she would be a good contendor. Weisslers, (hint hint)

But could you possibly tell me what was so bad about that performance? It was without a doubt the ONLY musical number to capture the essence of the PARADE. The number features an ensemble dressed as a brass band, and the song has a line "I'm the band at Macy's big parade." It had the right bubbly and joyful feel for the parade. Plus it's one of the famous numbers from SWEET CHARITY. Something the musical numbers lacked this year. I would say last years musical performances captured the feeling of the parade better than this year (Brooke in WT, even ALL SHOOK UP, etc)

O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A! yay kristin was adorable!

Kristin Chenoweth could barely control a Great Dane she trotted onto the stage. "Great, they gave me a dog that weighs five times what I do", she quipped. For the record, she weighs 93 pounds, and has a Maltese.

my mom, boefore being reminded that the parade was lip-synced looked over and said "wow norbert's getting better at the "censored" lyrics" since she say him on the tonys with his great "i want some readlly classy shiiii--- CRAP!"

so whats exactly did jai sing anyway?, i was watching the kinda crappy spelling bee performance, seeing that i can't really see the appeal of tha show as opposed to when i saw the tony number.

oh and i gotta say some of the camera shots in the wicked performances were just awkward, since singing isn't exactly the prettiest looking of activities that close.

oh yeah, fitting for the float he was on (cbs showed it but didn't have him singing)... i was trying to figure out what the hell he could be singing from the producers, since carmen's longest solo is a verse of "its bad luck to say good luck"
