The Lopez costumes in ACL trickled down. Sebastian LaCause and the current tour Zach both wear it. I wanna say they are using it at NSMT, too.

Also, when ACL was in London in the 70s, the Cassie, Petra Siniwaski, was washed out by the color red, so instead she wore slate blue (Which was the color of Donna's rehearsal leotard).

I've *never* heard of them changing those blue pants on Mimi for anyone. However, after the OC left, a few costumes were changed, most notably Maureen's "Over the Moon" shirt. Idina had a yellow/white stripped polo. The others had a kind of artsy moon painting shirt.

Christine's costume for "Masquerade" went through a change at some point. In the piano/vocal selections (at least the copy I bought back in the very early 90s) she is wearing an all white get up in the production shots that is nothing like the dress I have seen her in every time I've seen the show on stage. I'm curious as to when this dress was changed and what the reasoning (if any) was.

husk charmer- For Mel B, and I believe Simone (on tour) they changed the out tonight costume to more figure flattering black pants with the blue pant material made into a top.

A more common Rent costume change was busty Alexi Darlings would wear a pink tee shirt in La Vie Boheme instead of the pink fuzzy bra.

In the recent Hair revival Jeanette Bayardelle (replacement Dionne) wore a completely different colored and different style costume in Aquarius compared to original revival Dionne Sasha Allen.

Simone wore the blue pants, but Saycon Sengbloh sure didn't.

'One major change that comes to mind is Mrs. Tottendale in "The Drowsy Chapersone" - Georgia Engels "Bo-Peep" style costume was completely re-designed for JoAnne Worley to more of a flapper look.'

Sara Gettelfinger & Eartha Kitt did not use the original costumes worn by Jane Krakowski & Chita Rivera when they've taken over in NINE... super hard to find pictures of the replacement cast!!!

When Saycon began on tour, she did indeed wear blue pants. The costume was later changed to the black/blue switch as mentioned above.

Actually, there were color changes for costumes in Hello, Dolly! for Pearl Bailey and Ethel Merman, and they both related to the second costume in Act 1 (Hat shop to the end of the act). That costume was originally green with a lavender colored blouse. Pearl Bailey did the role for almost two years, and though she may have started out in the green outfit, it was later changed to yellow.

In Merman's case, that outfit became pink.

^ And I think Ginger Rogers wore a pink blouse instead of a lavender one on Ed Sullivan (So I would presume in the show she did, too). Bailey definitely wore lavender on Ed Sullivan, too.

In the original production of Company, Stritch wore a black and white, above-the-knee skirted ensemble. Whether it was a one piece or two piece, I don't know. There are plenty of photos of her in it. Her legs looked great.

At least one replacement, Vivian Blaine, was photographed in this B&W costume, but at least 2 of the 3 replacements wore a totally different all black dress that hung straight down off the boobs in the show. When I say that Jane Russell looked smashing in this, think boobs again (39" to be precise), and it will make sense. It was also longer than Stritch's costume and had a hemline that came to a downward point in the front and back. There may be photos around of this dress. I also saw Julie Wilson in the same black dress on tour. I have no idea what Vivian Blaine wore.

It was like Stritch said, "This B&W costume is mine. Mine. M-I-N-E. You'll need to design a completely new costume for future Joannes. Got that?"
