I know this is not the point of the thread...but Sondheim would never do the lyrics to someoneelse's music again...he's said so himself numerous times. But good choice...no one is better at the art of lyric-writing.

A musical of
THE TRIPLETTS OF BELLEVILLE

The lead could be played by

Then we would have to have the tripletts.....
Marin Mazzie, Carolee Carmello, and Caroline O'Conner

The Dog could be played by the guy who did the COW in INTO THE WOODS

It screams Musical!!!!

I've always had this idea for a musical version of the novel "The Last Hurrah," about an elderly politician running his final campaign. The title would be "Hurrah! Hurrah!" (which I think would be a wonderful title for any musical, regardless if it's based on the book or not.) The lead would be played by John Cullum (who would win his third Tony award). The music would be by Cy Coleman. I haven't picked the book writer or lyricist.

I would make a really upbeat and happy musical about OJ Simpson's murder trail. It'd be called "I Love You...But Please Die". It'd star Joel Gray as OJ, Nathan Lane as his wife, Idina Menzel as the judge, and Daphne Ruben Vega as the ghetto gangsta defense lawyer. "YO IDINAS MY HOMEGRLLL FO SHIZZLE!! REPRESENT!"
No jk jk. I really dont know.

Who is Brian Stokes Mitchell?? I don't know him. What is/was he in?

What is your dream role?
My dream role would be to be myself. To be performing at the Hollywood Bowl and to have an audience there just to see me, as Stephanie. They are there because they like what I do as a singer, an artist and a person (the last being the most important). I enjoy escaping and portraying other characters, but to be accepted and wanted as yourself... that's amazing! --Stephanie J. Block Just one of the many reasons I admire and respect Stephanie!!

Brian Stokes Mitchell played Coalhouse Walker in Ragtime and Cervantes/Don Quixote in the recent revival of Man of La Mancha and is, in my opinion, one of the finest singers in musical theater today. A truly amazing voice.

Not to mention BSM was Fred/Petruchio in the Kiss Me Kate revival for which he won a Tony for best leading actor. After that and La Mancha, there is no doubt in my mind he is one of the best "kings of broadway." Actually he will be on the Broadway Under the Stars concert on CBS-NY if you live in the NY area or have Direct TV.
