What a special night.

The material was sublime, while Kerry Butler, Karen Ziemba, Dan Jenkins, Penny Fuller and the most amazing Chip Zien, were simply perfection.

Daryl Roth and her husband were in the VIP section.

Does it have a title? Last time I checked, it was still listed as "Maltby & Shire revue #3". Or is that the official name?

Imagine my surprise last night when some cable station was showing Howard the Duck, that fever-dream movie that everybody loves to hate, and I thought "Wow, Howard sounds just like Mister Bungee". I had no idea he was voiced by Chip Zien! Was this common knowledge that I somehow missed?

I attended the premier of Maltby & Shire’s “About Time” at Goodspeed’s Terris Theater in Chester, Connecticut and highly recommend this outstanding revue. 

Such fun relishing all the smart lyrics to new songs that I am sure I will be listening to again once a recording becomes available.  There are very memorable story songs and interludes that are funny and moving.  The great cast that includes Darius de Haas, Shinnerrie Jackson, Daniel Jackson, Eddie Korbich, Issy van Randwyck, and Lynne Wintersteller sound simply glorious.  Some of my favorite songs No One Will Know, What Do I Tell the Children? and Manhattan Skyline. It is also completely intoxicating to be whisked away by the brilliance and fun that dualing pianists, Deniz Cordell and Annie Pasqua are having. Just so good. I hope it extends so I can get back there.
