the first time i saw it, i loved it (in TO)...then i saw it again in winnipeg, my hometown, and didn't really enjoy it. i'm not sure if its because the prodution wasn't as good (i wasn't as impressed with the acting/character development) or because i have seen so many different musicals since seeing it the first time in TO (two years ago) and gaining a better understanding as to what makes an awesome show.
I wouldn't go see it again BUT...*sigh* i can't resist blasting 'mamma mia', 'SOS', and 'gimme gimme gimme' every once in awhile...

I saw the tour, which I think is a very unfair representation of it. It failed my expectations. The voices were weak, except for the two friend characters of the mother (the names escape me, it's been a while). But if I could see a ligitimate cast, I would probably enjoy it instead of itching to get out of my seat.

In the show it is probably "The Winner Takes It All" or "Our Last Summer".
As for ABBA's original tracks, "Dancing Queen" is the best.

Fun show, cute story. The original Broadway cast was excellent as is the Las Vegas production.

Overrated in my opinion. The tunes are catchy, but the storyline is rather weak....a paternity test would have solved everything in less time. But it's a fun show to go to. I had a good time, but it's not a show that I would watch more than once. :)

The one nice thing that I will say about the show is that I applaud them for continuously hiring Broadway professionals and never stunt-casting the show.

It's just fun. People having a good time for two hours escaping a world of chaos is not a bad thing. The show makes sure people have fun. Love "Dancing Queen" and "Knowing Me, Knowing You".

its was cute-its prob my least fave show ive seen
i saw it last october-jenny fellner, and most of the rest of the cast were good, but dee hoty was HORRIBLE! i hated her songs, especially when she sang "winner takes it all!" i usually love the song, but she was bad, oh, and also in "money, money, money" she was also especially horrible. other than that, the show was pretty good-a touristy sort of show...

I saw it a few months ago and I had a great time. Like several people have already said, it's not good theatre so you shouldn't go expecting good theatre. But it's great if you want to just have fun and be entertained for 2 hours. And I can think of few people who don't want to have fun.

I agree with best12bars except for the movie version part.
I think it's like making a photocopy of a photocopy of a photocopy though. After the first two, it gets pretty ugly.
Favorite song was "Slipping Through My Fingers." It always made me teary-eyed

I enjoy Abba music, but I ABSOLUTELY hated this show...and I hated hating it because I have a couple friends in it....I think the main reason this one worked versus the other jukies, was because of the timing, it came right around 9/11 when people didn't want to go to the theater at all, much less to go see something thought provoking or not uplifting, Mamma Mia was the answer....interestingly enough. The only great thing about this show is that it is consistently keeping some actors employed. kudos to that!

I liked the 'Money money money' number. Oh and 'Does your mother know' was hilarious!

It's not a very good musical in terms of dialogue and everything, but I love it. If you're looking for a fun time where you can just relax, Mamma Mia! is perfect.
My favorite song? Probably Mamma Mia, but my favorite scene in general is Does Your Mother Know.

I thought it was boring. I really expected a lot more from it. Though I'm not a fan of ABBA (I do like one or two of their songs), it almost put me to sleep.

I absolutely hated watching this show. The book is just ridiculous. The ONLY song in the show I enjoyed was "The Winner Takes it All."

not gonna lie, I had a fun time. The music is unbelievavly infecious and accessible, and I had these songs stuck in my head forever.

I'd say I'm one of the biggest Mia! fans around, having seen the show more than 130 times, which makes me a MiaHead, I suppose... And Does Your Mother Know is still my favorite song! The finale is right behind...

The show pisses me of royally. I really dislike almost everything about it, from the overture to the concert finale!
Happy...Everything!

I loved it. My dad loves ABBA and I grew up listening to their music so I, in turn, like ABBA as well. I saw the show maybe 2 years ago(?) in Detroit, so I can't say which part was my favorite. My favorite song is Money, Money, Money, but I also like Dancing Queen. Such a classic! =)
