I got this CD for free at the Flea Market and I am honestly not sure what to think. It is one of the craziest things I have ever heard. Many of the songs start out wonderfully and then slowly (or not so slowly) transition to manic Mandy ("Not a Day Goes By" is a great example of this).
This is my first Mandy CD, and I have heard that this is what to expect from most of them. Do any of you have this CD, and if so what are your opinions?

Posted: 10/2/09 at 11:18amother than his debut Cd, this is my favorite of his CDs. Great orchestrations, Judy Blazer, cool arrangements and restrained (more or less) singing. Definitely a cool disc.

His singing grates on my nerves. His lower register is wonderful, but he goes into falsetto WAAAAAAAAAAY too quickly. He has no upper register, it seems. And his falsetto is so airy and annoying. Lord, I could go on for days. Acting and lower register = Good. Falsetto = Nails on chalkboard.

OMG!!! I opened this thinking he was cast in a new gay movie or something...
I think he has an amazing voice, but he is just not doing the right thing on that youtube clip. It's horrible and I am a fan of his.

I think the concept of this album is brilliant, but it is not one of my favorites of his. His first cd, self titled is one I turn to quite a bit.

I have owned this album for ten years and still don't quite know how I feel about it! Even though I am a Mandy fan and this album does have some jewels("The Room Above Her" and "You are Beautiful" are among my favorites) but songs like "Beat Out that Rhythm on the Drum" and "Honey Bun" are downright terrifying and unintentionally hilarious!
The man can sing with the best of them, but the choices he makes most of the time are strange and distracting. I am all for the artist finding his individual style but never sacrifice the integrity of the song or music while doing so.
