Marc, were you able to get cameos for Harvey, Bruce or any of the original cast that are not repeating their stage roles? If not, were you able to get a short film produced using these wonderfully talented actors to show before Hairspray?

"Well, if the wind is blowing the right direction in Summer 2007 America, this could potentially be another "Grease" as far as films go."
As much as I love Hairspray, I'm afraid it's going to get lost in Harry Potter mania. With the 5th film opening the week before (and which will overpower any film for at least three weeks following the opening) I just don't think we'll see it reach that level. The other problem is that the 7th and final Harry Potter book is released that same weekend Hairspray opens, and that will slow down movie ticket sales considerably for family-friendly films. But let's hope for the best.
