Has anyone seen her performances of Tracy? How is she?
I've seen HAIRSPRAY 5 times and it's close to my heart, so I'm considering getting tickets again. need to see George Wendt's Edna!
Anyway... how is this Marissa girl?

I haven't seen her but I've heard nothing but good things about Marissa as Tracy. I'll be very sad to see Shannon go, but from what I've heard, Marissa will hold her own as the new lead.

I saw Marissa!Tracy when she did it at Weston Playhouse in Weston, Vermont and she is amazing :) I love her so much, and I was SO SO thrilled to hear that she's actually on Broadway! When we talked to her, she was saying how "there [was] talk", so it's so great to hear that it actually worked out!
She's such a sweetheart too
GAH I want to go see Hairspray to badly right now!! Marissa AND Aaron *le sigh*

Just chiming in to say that I thought Marissa was absolutely amazing when I saw her back in December.
Good luck Marissa!
Wow! How on EARTH is Marissa doing HAIRSPRAY on Broadway nightly AND doing DANCING WITH THE STARS on Monday and Tuesday nights? PLUS... the pressure of learning the new dances for DANCING WITH THE STARS each week AND doing an 8 performances a week Broadway schedule.
Quite impressive, Marissa!

So.. I am PHSYCHED, because I might actually be able to see Hairspray tomorrow, which means Marissa and Aaron!!
I'm going to visit Sarah Lawrence college, and the visiting thing is until 4:30 tomorrow, so my mom and I will pretty much have the night free to do whatever. And it's 30 minutes away from the city!
So actually, that leads me to a question: does anyone by any chance know what might be the best way to go about getting not-too-expensive tickets late? like, 5:00ish day of? Has the lotto been quiet enough that they'd have some extra tickets, or would we probably just have to go with regular priced tickets?
snl, if you're going to get there at 5 tomorrow, you'll be too late for the lotto. That's at 4, drawing at 4:30, for the 7 PM show. You could always try TKTS, Hairspray is almost always up there.

ahh kk, yeah I wasn't sure if lotto was the type of thing where they do the drawing but then if they have any extra you can just go and get them whenever.
TKTS would still be open at 5 though? that could work!
Yes, TKTS is still open at 5. I believe they open at 3 for the night performances and stay open until 8.
If there are lotto tickets left over, sometimes they will sell them at the box office. Not sure how busy it will be tomorrow, but it's worth a shot asking when you arrive.

awesome, so maybe we'll head to the box office and ask about it, and if we don't have luck there we'll go on over to TKTS :)
thank you so much!
eep I'm so excited!!
Aaron is reason enough to be excited.

um, heck yes!!
and it'll also give me a chance to maybe inquire at the stagedoor about whether or not he's still involved with Next to Normal! Okay maybe I shouldn't because if he's not I wouldn't want to make him feel bad. But seriously, I'm dying to know!
Do we have any idea how long Marissa and George will be with the show? Crossing my fingers I'll get to see them!

She hasn't even started yet!!! It's not like she's leaving tomorrow! She'll be in the show for as long as she wants (assuming she doesn't give the abysmal performances that Michelle Dowdy gave in the show). George Wendt should have left ages ago. They must have thrown a lot of money at him. I'm guessing they have no suitable actors for him.
George was actually very good yesterday. He's definitely grown in the role since the first time I saw him in October. No need to worry about Marissa, I saw her in October (one of her first performances) and she was excellent.
I was thinking more of through the summer and fall when I'm hosting company.
