Front Mezz is fine. Beware of the rear mezz though. I sat there for La Cage a few years back and I felt like i was looking through a window at the stage. The same goes for the Broadway.
R ;o)
PS. Don't even THINK about sitting in the Balcony at the Palace. That was probably the worst next to the Walter Kerr 2 row Balcony (which was never supposed to be a Balcony!).

Posted: 3/16/11 at 6:36pmI think the front mezz is actually better than the back of the orchestra at the Marquis. Grab em while you can. Not sure what to think of that show -- Wonderland. Have you heard good things?

I've actually heard very good things about the rear mezz of the Marquis also, though I've never sat there.
I have been in the fourth row center mezz (for Drowsy) and first row left mezz (for 9 to 5) and they both afford great views, though the proscenium blocked off a small bit of the action on one side during 9 to 5 because I wasn't center. But I think you'll be fine anywhere in the front mezz.

Posted: 3/16/11 at 7:23pmTo comment on famebroadway2's remark, the balcony at the Palace was horrifying for WSS, but it was great for Priscilla!! You get a great overall views of such a big show, and you're just over eye level with the Divas most of the time. For $28 + extras fees from TKTS, not a bad solution.

Posted: 3/16/11 at 7:48pmI agree Jordan. I took one of my best friends to his 1st Broadway show there, Drowsy, and even in the next to the last row he was surprised at how close we were. He was used to the Buell in Denver.

Posted: 3/16/11 at 11:05pmWell, I forget how much balcony seats usually are, but I think the sides are only 76.50 usually, something around that. Sooo at TKTS just less than an hour before curtain I got row D balcony seats for $28 without fees, but with fees it was about 35. Still a great deal, and seats were great. Once u get over the fact that you are almost touching the ceiling of the theater in the humungous Palace Theater, that is. Highly recommend doing it that way. I also talked to the box office lady before hand and there were some side orchestra seats in row O for $60 each, but she said the balcony seats are actually better and I should stick with them instead of moving at intermission or something. Hope it helped.

Posted: 3/16/11 at 11:08pmDid you specifically ask for those seats or did they automatically give them to you? I think that'd be a really great option but I'm really not that familiar with how TKTS works.
