Where can I get me some clips of that boy singing that? Could someone PM me a site of a boy singing DG?

I first heard Raul Esparza singing the clip quite a few months ago ... but I had never heard of him and had no idea who it was singing the clip, until just a few days ago. I thought it was Stephen Schwartz at first LOL But wow he had an incredible voice, to put it mildly. Now I just need to hear Marty Thomas hitting a high F ...
elphababuff where did you get that picture of saycon in greeen as elphaba oh my god lol its amazing,pm me back please
http://www.saycon-online.com/
that's where the pics from
Just found the Raul clips and "Wow." That's about all that can be said. That was amazing. Better than some of the Elphabas. :-P
See, I *told* you guys he should've replaced Idina.
:-P I'm almost inclined to go with Emcee on that one....I mean Raul's performance was fantastic!
Come hither, darling. Cross over to Emcee's side....
Seriously, man can do anything.

what's raul's website where the clip is?
raulesparza.com - or go to google and type in his name
clip is on the side under "recordings."
just go to - www.raulesparza.com/recordings, and it's under his SECOND appearance at Seth's Chatterbox.
When I sing it, I sing it an octave lower, great song.

He has this freaky middle range between his normal voice and his falsetto, it's really impressive. He hits the high f....it's crazy.
I know exactly what you mean. I have this same "middle range" thing going on and I can sing the song in the original voicing and belt the F, too. It's fun!
I cannot believe there is a two page thread about this boy whom, until I saw the Broadway Belters photo op, had never heard of in my life. Does everything even remotely WICKED related, deserve this much space?

I first heard of him when I was watching Driven: Britney Spears on VH1, like, two years ago. They interviewed him because he ended Britney's championship reign on Star Search.
Well so much for where that got him.
Okay- First off- I love RAUL, but I just listened to him singing the DEFYING GRAVITY and I am not all impressed. Yes, he can sing the notes, but I have never really liked his tone quality. Does anyone else agree? I dunno- I might be the only one...
MARTY- He might be a Contra Tenor, but I remember when I won the lottery to Wicked- I could hear him perfectly... He was the only Ensemble member actually singing full out on things... I was impressed...

How can you love someone, but not like their tone quality, when half of their career is built on singing? I'm no singer, but I know he has kind of shaky technique... but I like it. I just wish he wasn't hurting himself.

I agree. I love Raul, but his voice does kind of get on my nerves. I love Tick Tick Boom, but Rauls voice on some of the songs isn't the best. It sounds sort of nasual and forced at times. I thought his version of Defying Gravity was good, but no way was it as impressive as the actualy song itself. Does anyone have the sheet music for Rauls version? Although I don't care for his voice that much, i did like his version, if that makes sense at all ha.
Raul's actually isn't that high. It's general tenor range. Marty Thomas is RIDICULOUS though. I only wish I could hear it. Hopefully somoene will post a recording of it soon.
And people have known about Marty Thomas for a while. He's got an underground fan base, but now his fan base is obviously growing.

Al, Marty isn't getting all this attention because he's associated with Wicked, he's getting all this attention because he's ridiculously talented and a bunch of people just got to see him give an amazing performance.
No, not everything "even remotely [Wicked-related]" deserves this much space, but someone as talented as Marty does.
Suggesting that people wouldn't be talking about him so much if he wasn't in the cast of or didn't sing a song from Wicked is like suggesting that I thought Kathy Deitch's "Wizard and I" was quite possibly THE sassiest rendition I've heard just because she's "even remotely [Wicked-related]." It's crazy talk.
