Until June 30 Masterworks Broadway is offering 50 of their cast albums through Amazon as MP3 downloads for $4.99 per album.

Can help fill a few gaps in your collection (that is if you don't mind MP3 downloads.)

A few albums here are no longer available as CD's (REDHEAD, FINIAN'S RAINBOW 1960 revival)

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

Some great deals and then some disheartening ones considering how much I paid for some of those originally. THANKS for the heads up!!!

I can see why the labels are pushing this - after all once the music royalties are paid (and storage space on the server) the rest is pure profit. No manufacturing, warehouse or distribution costs.

But still I would rather have the CD.
