I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this is the ninety minute TYA version; the major productions licensed today tend to be the one act version instead of the somewhat bloated full length one.
The show lives and dies on its Cat, who sets the tone for the whole thing. David Shiner, legendary clown though he may be, seems to be reaching as hard as he can for Martin Short on the OBC. And Rosie, of course, was Rosie. (I saw Beth Malone play the Cat at Pittsburgh CLO, and she tapped into what I can only describe as “cool aunt energy.”)
