Hi guys!
I know I don't post much on here but was just wondering if someone could help me out.
I am planning on making my first trip to Broadway/NYC in early January and am planning on seeing as many shows as I can in a 3-4 day period.
The biggest question I am debating with myself over is what to do about a Matilda ticket? Assuming the show is extended once again past the 3rd of Jan., I adore the music and am really excited to see the show but I am also trying to find the best value for this particular show.
TKTS: I've noticed that Matilda has been listed on TKTS in recent months (many times for 50% off) but I also have heard that if you really want to see a show you should buy a ticket in advance. However, the frequency at which the show is offered and the lure of 40-50% off a high level ticket is alluring.
Lottery: I see Matilda has a lottery for $27 a ticket and I've read that it's not too difficult to win during the week or during off periods. I've also read the seats are a bit partial view though and that concerns me for my first viewing of a show I'm dying to see. Thoughts?
Telecharge: I'm also tempted just to buy a cheaper ticket up in the balcony once they go on sale for my dates and call it a day. However, I'd hate to spend the money on a high up balcony ticket and miss some of the stage if I can possibly spend just a bit more and get a really good/great seat through TKTS.
As you can see, I'm having a hard time planning and figuring this out. What do you think my best value/bet would be? If it helps, I'm planning on seeing the show the night I arrive in NYC which would be a Tuesday night.
Thanks in advance for the help!
