Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 6/7/26

CoffeeBreak said: "The floor dropped out of MHE. It has barely made its weekly nut in past weeks - the majority of its weeks, it has not. I wonder if a tour is even viable with the set having to be redone for the road. This has the looks of a big financial disaster ...

Speaking of losses - Celebrity Autobiography. Took my kids to see it last weekend on comps. Not good or worth the time even with one of the better groups.

Do you want this to be about politics, or merit? Based on your comments here, I'm willing to bet you didn't step foot into the Winter Garden to see Death of a Salesman. I am quite happy they actually chose the deserving winner rather than making a decision based upon who the lead producer i

Rank the 2026 Tony Performances

Not going to rank all of them but my top five were:

1. The Lost Boys

2. Pink’s opening

3. Rocky Horror

4. Ragtime

5. Two Strangers

Honorable mention: Cats The Jellicle Ball

2026 Post-Tony Closures and Successors

I thought I had heard Ragtime had a hard closing date due to the theater being accounted for in the fall already? Or am I mistaken?

2026 Post-Tony Closures and Successors

OP has been wishing for and predicting the death of Maybe Happy Ending since it began previews. Take what they say with a grain of salt.

The 79th Annual Tony Awards Telecast!

Congrats Tony voters…your big winners are a show closing in a month in Ragtime and a musical that people can just go watch on freaking Apple TV in Schmigadoon. That’s not even getting into the message that rewarding Death of a Salesman up and down the board sends. Good job!

Last year left me too happy. Feeling deeply annoyed on post-Tony Monday is a return to normal haha

As expected,Maybe Happy Endingseems to be DOA, and the positive word of mouth that has started to develop probably won’t mean much. I’d like to tryand catch this one before a potential pre-holiday closing.

Ahem…DOA eh?!? Proud to have had faith in this show from the very beginning!! Go MHE!!

The 78th Annual Tony Award Nominations for 2025

For me, I think Paulson’s canvassing rules out the idea of Jasmine Amy Rogers pulling a dark horse victory. She would need support that would have shown up here."

Yeah gonna go change my predictions where I can in re: to Jasmine. Seems the two lead candidates are so far ahead that the remaining 75% or so won’t change much.

Also, might go back and go with my initial gut feeling of JPITV for Best Play. Seems it’s in the r

Eh, her competition was better (including the not nominated Robyn Hurder). For a robot, of any version, she played the role like a human and didn't have much wattage. Not surprised by this at all.

MHE doesn't have Best Musical wrapped up in any way now. Maybe last Fall or mid winter

Death Becomes Her and Buena Vista got the same number of nominations as MHE. Death Becomes Her also edged out Shen in Best Actress to get both of their leads nominated. Buena Vista even got a Special Tony. I honestlythink Best Musical is much more competitivethan some on here believe."

Yeah…how does ELF of all shows have a drop in attendance this week? Maybe a slight lack of interest after actual Christmas Day?

MAYBE HAPPY ENDING Reviews

If it’s the HAPPYMAIL flier then it’s valid for all performances through May 25 with Xmas week being the only exception. Just have to book using the code by Jan 5.

I’ll admit, I am super impressed at the turnaround and it’s more than I ever would have predicted but is it enough? And the dead of January is  imminent.

Now they’re surviving to stay afloat and I can imagine sharks swarming around the theatre for something in the spring.

Yeah if it hadn’t been for MHE announcing the true sellouts on Saturday I probably would have been thrilled with such a hold after a holiday.

After all, I’d give it a guess that the difference between the apparent weekend sellouts that MHE has had in recent weeks and the announced ones on Saturday was maybe…20-30 seats?? Those two performances co

Won’t lie…with the announcement of the first two TRUE sellouts on Saturday for Maybe Happy Ending I was hoping for a bit better this week…

HOWEVER I did know that the weekday shows didn’t sell as well as the weekend shows did, a small dip was expected after Thanksgiving AND the midweek shows (especially tonight) seem to be selling better. Hoping the weekend momentum from this past weekend continues into the week and through the holidays.

This is mostly really good news for MHE. Average ticket price is finally over $100 and they broke the $700k mark for the week. But it something of a mixed back because despite being a holiday week, capacity was at 88%. Still, these are much better numbers for MHE and this is the first week that they came close to (or actually managed to) cover their operating co

What makes their operating costs so high for such a small cast? Is it due to the technical elements?
