A friend who was at tonight's WSS performance called to say Matt Cavanaugh was replaced mid-performance - suddenly a different Tony on stage! Anybody know what happened? The annoucement made at the end of the act didn't give any details.

I hope he's okay. No matter what casting choices are made no one deserves to be sick or injured.

I would like to know as well.

I'm a professional. Whenever something goes wrong on stage, I know how to handle it so no one ever remembers. I flash my %#$&. "Jayne just sat there while Gina flailed around the stage like an idiot."

I was just informed that a fellow cast member showed him that other thread about him and it REALLY, REALLY upset him. So much so he was a mess and locked himself in the stage level restroom. I believe he's still in there.

There are no stage level bathrooms in the Palace.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I remember when he was hit was a set piece during the DC run. I wonder if something similar happened. Could it be the ghosts of Robbins and Bernstein? "We want a better Tony!"

They NEVER annouce why a performer is being replaced.

Why would you expect that?

I, personally, never expected them to announce why he was being replaced. But, people talk and I thought someone may have heard something.
