I’m trying to find an article somewhere, but it’s being circulated on social media that Maurice Hines, renowned queer tap dancer and brother of Gregory Hines, passed away on Thursday December 28th, two weeks after his 80th birthday.

May his memory be a blessing and may Hines, Hines…and Dad…dance with joy forever

Rest in peace…and in dance,

Always loved this duet from "Cotton Club"Maurice and Gregory Hines Crazy Rhythm from Cotton Club

Sad to hear. May he rest in Peace. I was honored to get to know him a bit when he was doing "Tappin'' Through Life".  From the conversations I had with him, I don't think he would want to be remembered as a "renowned queer tap dancer". He was more than that and being gay didn't seem to be foremost in his life. Being human was. We have lost the second half of an amazingly talented set of brothers.  JMO
